Alessandro Bertoni - Keystone (with Brett Garsed / Virgil Donati / Ric Fierabracci)

    Hi everyone,

as you may know, I launched a little record label called Generation Prog Records last year -
our first release was Coma Ghosts by Effloresce, an atmospheric progressive metal album
which came out in February 2012. It's been a while since, so I'm really excited that we will
release two great new prog albums this September. Let me introduce you to the first one:

Keystone is the solo debut from Italian keyboardist Alessandro Bertoni, currently based in Los Angeles.
You may know Alessandro from his earlier band Aphelion, who released the album Franticode in 2008.
That CD was mixed by Derek Sherinian - and Alessandro's new album sees that collaboration continue.

The credits for Keystone should give you a pretty good idea of the level of quality you can expect:

    Music by Alessandro Bertoni
    Produced by Derek Sherinian

    Alessandro Bertoni - keys
    Brett Garsed - guitar
    Ric Fierabracci - bass
    Virgil Donati - drums

But don't just take my word for it, we've put together a nice album trailer with lots of music!

The album will be released September 9, 2013. Until then, enjoy these samples!

    All the best,
    Michael

Prog Sphere have published a full track from Keystone as an exclusive premiere, check it out:
    http://www.prog-sphere.com/news/ales...toni-premiere/

It's one of my favorites on the album, the jazzy and increasingly busy drumming behind Brett Garsed's typically amazing solo is sooo good.

And here are a couple of videos from the studio:

Brett Garsed recording the solo for Pacifica Rampage (which he co-wrote):

Ric Fierabracci playing the intro to City of Gordium (part II of the Megas Alexandros trilogy):

I know the embedded videos are the eye-catcher here, so make sure you don't miss the full track above!

Listening on Progify now, sounds great! Never enough Brett Garsed. Ric Fierabracci and Virgil Donati are top notch as well. Thanks for the heads up.

Keen to buy, but no shipping to New Zealand on webstore. eur13 is hmmm acceptable, eur15 is over the top for 30 min disk. Although all my fav musicians are there. Guess I'll wait for more buying options.

yeah, I know. Trying to remember when was the last time I paid nearly $30 for a CD (30min).
I know it's harsh, blame it on recession...

It's actually 36 minutes, which is really quite close to the 38 minutes of classic albums like Close to the Edge or KC's Discipline.

EDIT: Oops, I calculated with the wrong dollar here. Forget about it!

Amazon has it too. I'll probably pick it up at some point. It is pricey though. http://www.amazon.com/Keystone-Aless...oni+-+keystone

Amazon don't get the CDs from us directly, hence the price. CD Baby is a direct distributor, which explains the much lower price there.

The Amazon price is $1 less. You're probably looking at the download price.

The Amazon price is $24.66, that's what I meant. You're talking about a Marketplace seller (in this case CD Baby themselves, funnily).

there is one Donati project that I've been hunting for... 'made in australia' i think it is. Gambale/Fierabracci/Donati. A reissue of that would be good, eh?

I thought Ric still had a few copies available, but it looks like it really is sold out now. Too bad!
