This will be an auto buy for me when it does come out. I liked the one album of theirs I own, but their music really hit me after seeing them live. Good stuff.
Also an auto-buy for me too. LOVE their 1st one.
Yep, me as well. I've typed the words 'Cantus Firmus is a classic' so often here that I should set up a short-cut key.
Does it matter that this waste of time is what makes a life for you?
Another auto-buy here. Excellent stuff. When I first bought Cantus Firmus, there was a mixup and my CD case arrived empty. The booklet but no actual disc. When I emailed them about it, they were kind enough to immediately ship another to me as well as a CDR copy of their debut album, long out of print, with artwork files. Very cool guys!

Great band, ridiculous songs and musicianship! Love "Cantus" -- "Utter Once Her Name" has haunted me since the moment I heard it; it was one of "those moments" hearing that for the first time.
This sample may whet some appetites for those who haven't heard it yet. What I wouldn't give to be at their NJ Proghouse gig in October!
One of my favorite bands, period.
psst...don't tell the Benjamins, as I don't want them to get all puffed up!

These folks, along with full-blown IZZ and District 97 (with John Wetton), are the trifecta that makes NJ Proghouse Homecoming weekend irresistable for me.
Their previous album was excellent. Love the keys and vocals. All the musicians there are great.
But will the album really be ready this year? They have developped it for a long time (as I understand it), but I haven't heard anything that it will be released this year. It would be great if they managed to do it in 2013.
Greetings,
Thanks so much for all the kind words, guys! It really means a lot to us all.
We've completed a ton of work on the new album already, although the fairly non-linear fashion in which we've had to work this time around makes it a little difficult to place an accurate measurement on how close we are to being finished at this point. If I had to guess, though, I'd say it's probably somewhere in the 60-70% (completed) range--and, in spite of a few unexpected (and, thankfully, mostly minor) setbacks, we are still doing everything possible to get the CD done by the end of this year. The whole process definitely taking longer than we would have liked, but logistics have allowed us to pick up the pace rather significantly this year, so I think we'll actually be able to get the album released on--or at least very close to--this target.
On behalf of the entire group, I sincerely hope that you find the results to be worth the wait.
Take care and thanks very much once again,
Alan
Previous album was great. Looking forward to this one.

One of the very best of the modern symph-prog bands! I love Cantus Firmus and "Alison Waits (A Ghost Story)" is among my favorite prog tracks by any band/artist; it's pretty close to compositional perfection!
All of us Advent fans are dying to hear the next one!
I picked up "Cantus Firmus" when I had the pleasure of seeing Advent live at MarProg at Toad's Place in New Haven a few years back. Love the disc, but seeing the band live was a revelation; very strongly considering the NJ Proghouse weekend, would love to see them again!
