That's great news! The Teaneck show is close by, the Mexical Live site shows 3 bands and it appears Thank You Scientist is the headliner, does that seen right? I wonder if Morgblb will get longer playing time in Dunellen?

This was one of my top 3 favorite NEARfest sets for musical performance (excluding sentimentality and bucket list bands)

Drummer has a hilarious sense if humor and guitar player has Keneally like chops and improvisational ability

    Don't miss this one

I promoted the NJ Proghouse show on the radio... real FM radio... not the pretender internet "radio" where you only get Proggers looking for Prog. WMUH is real radio where everyone (not just Proggers) driving through or living in the area tune in to hear excellent music of many genres. THIS is where we can attract new people to become Proggers in order to keep the genre alive. The rest of us who are already in the know are a dying breed without attracting new fans. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that WMUH also streams it's on-air signal so that it can be heard by the legions of WMUH alumni and Muhlenberg College alumni... and YOU, too, if you're so inclined. ;-)

Thought Radio Playlist for September 14, 2013.

Fantastic show Saturday night at Orion in Baltimore. All Morglbl - no opening band. The first set was wild and fun with Christophe introducing each song with explanations on what inspired each. Highlight of the set was a jazzy South American influenced Highway to Hell (if you haven't seen the videos, check You Tube). Somewhere in the middle the song turned into a lesson on how to look like a jazz guitar player. Music and comedy all in one package.

The second set was mostly down to business showcasing why these guys are so popular with the prog-esque crowd. Short song intros were followed by amazing fretwork from Godin and Ivan Rougny. Rougny loves to clown and make faces, but in the second set he really showed that he has the bass chops to back up that goofy smile. Aurélien the stick twirling and tossing drummer did not disspoint either. When the band gets serious he has the skills to back them up.

One of the second set highlights was a jazzy version of Smoke on the Water that morphed into one of the heaviest versions of the song I have heard (at least since I saw them play it at Nearfest). This song is really what the band is all about. Mixing jazz, rock, metal, and a little humor perfectly to put on an incredible show. Their CDs are great, but seeing them perform live is jaw dropping amazing. I hope them come back again after they finish their new CD.

Agreed, the show Saturday was mind boggling. These guys are just incredible musicians and the added comedy elements of the facial gestures, prancing and banter make this a very entertaining show. (Note: The second set got louder and louder to uncomfortable levels, which is really not necessary.) Third time I've seen them I think (NF,PD,Orion). Gets better and better. And suck great guys to boot.

Thanks to Mike as always for putting these shows on. He's such a great host!

Yeah...Saturday night was great fun, even with the insane rain outside. It was actually my first time seeing Morglbl so it was very much a treat.
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

My fault - not theirs'. There is a direct relationship between drunkenness and how loud I seem to push the faders. Sorry 'bout that! The beer was good... And that chocolate wine was strange but tasty as well.
