My 14-year old son is doing rock band camp this week playing keyboards. A bunch of kids sign up and get thrown into a band together with the assistance of instructors. I don't push Prog on him too much - he likes classic rock with some prog leanings. He really likes Kansas and Queen. He did this camp last year and played Carry On Wayward Son (his suggestion) and Comfortably Numb, among others.

So back to today, and a few interesting things:

- my son told me that the band members took turns to state the type of music they like. He told me that he said he likes Classic Rock and Prog(!). And that several other band members also mentioned Prog, with one boy loving Rush.
- my son's suggested song this year is Bohemian Rhapsody, which they will be playing. They will also play Foo Fighters, Weezer, Billy Joel, and Pink (not Floyed)
- Each band also composes an original song to be performed later. The intro to the song is in 7/8 time. Guess whose idea that was!
