Fright Pig - Out of the Barnyard. Anyone hear this yet?

This is one incredible CD. All of the names of the musicians are just satirized pig metaphors and their webpage is just full of jokes, satires and fake reviews. Who are these guys or this guy? The production on the CD is top-notch, the musicians have incredible chops and the songwriting is just excellent. Are these some pro-proggerz that are just doing this under the radar under assumed porcine names or is this just an incredible new band? I'm leaning toward the former. I played this on my show tonight and people were just completely blown away by it.

Anyone? There is hardly anything that leads anywhere on the internet. I did send an email but no response yet.

    HELP!!!

This sounds intriguing! I'd really like to know the musicians involved with this project.

For a moment I thought you were atalking about Pigshackle anothe new band with a pig realted theme. http://www.pigshackle.com/
Fright Pig sounds a bit too traditional prog to me - track 3 sounded very Peter Gabriel , but Pigshackle are rather more to my taste.

Check this out Nosey - imagine the amount of time this must have taken this poor bastard to try and learn! Sad part is FZ himself would have said "Thank you. OK, next."

    :bump:

This one is up on progstreaming now.

I'd say, based on what I'm hearing, that the music itself is awesome - but the mastering on the CD is is REALLY bad. The loud sections (and there are plenty of them) sound like ... sorry ... bacon sizzling in a pan of white noise. It's a shame, as the music itself is so great.

This band will be playing the "Sunday Morning Church of Prog" slot at RoSfest in 2014. Rise and shine and get some. Nobody knows who these guys are but I'd bet they are going to play one heckuva set. I couldn't disagree more about the mastering on the CD. Maybe you received a bad copy? Mine sounds great.

Love this claim on the band's shop:

"The music is Progressive Rock which is the most vaunted and appreciated of all musical styles."

It’s pretty cool, they seem to have a mastery of a great variety of styles. The keyboard/piano playing is out of control. I approve of the folky sections and the one track with the Flamenco-style guitar. There’s rather too much metal guitar for my tastes, though. Vocals remind me of Beardfish, which makes me wonder if this is secretly a Rikard Sjöblom project under a fake name and pig masks.

Interesting......now that you mention it the vocals do kind of sound like Rikard. I have the album and really dig it, but know very little about the band.

Also, both Beardfish and Fright Pig are both playing Rosfest in 2014. Very convenient!

This has been featured at Progstreaming for quite a while, yet it has fallen off since. I'm surprised no-one mentioned listening to it while it was streaming. Isn't my promotion not up-to-date, or are the people in this thread just ignorant?

I did mention in "Top-3 "Made In USA" prog albums of 2013" threat , a pretty solid album

Excellent band!! I love that CD and I am really excited about seeing them in Gettysburg during May 2014. I have to say kudos to George for even discovering this band and lining them up for Rosfest 2014. Does anyone know anything about a possible second album from them in time for the festival?

Having met Rikard, as well as assimilating his sense of irony & humor like most of you, I think I'll be surprised if this isn't Rikard etc. A great way for George to save $, especially if other "Fish" members are also porcine.

Ok, I'll come clean. Fright Pig is all my one-man project. See you all at ROSfest!
