miRthkon News! New album, tour, pleas for help...

    Hello, prog friends -

Still glowing from the wonderful show last Friday (playing with the wonderful Free Salamander Exhibit and Stolen Babies) I'm happy to announce some other goings-on here in miRthkon land.

    1. We're busily toiling getting the next album done, to be released on AltrOck records!
    2. We're gearing up to play the RIO festival in France and FreakShow ArtRock festival in Germany!
    3. Items 1 and 2 are happening in tandem in September, and we're thus scraping together funds to get us (7 people and all our ridiculous gear) over the pond and celebrate this new CD while performing various wonderful shows to brand new audiences! We're going the kickstarter route, which is basically like pre-ordering our new record (or shopping for existing records, and then some) - here's the kickstarter link, containing Wally's fun video about all this stuff:

    4. As well, we have most of the tour booked, and leads on many of the TBD dates, but hey if you think you have other great leads in noted regions, it's always good to have a back-up plan. Or maybe you know of wonderful places to sleep, eat, or take band photos along the way... Let me know! Here's the current itinerary:

9/14 - Milan, Italy w/ Yugen + CD RELEASE SHOW! venue TBD
    9/15 - Italy/Southern France?
    9/16 - Marseille, France @ Upercut
9/17 - Toulouse, France @ Amanita Muscaria w/ Stabat Akish
    9/18 - Tarbes, France @ Celtic Pub
    9/19 - Montpelier, France w/ PoiL (pending)
9/20 - Southwest France or Barcelona?
9/21 - Carmaux, France Rock In Opposition Festival (!!!!)
    9/22 - Day off
    9/23 - Lyon, France w/ Fat 32 (pending)
    9/24 - Switzerland...?
9/25 - Trento, Italy @ Trentino Jazz Festival @ Univ. of Trento
    9/26 - Switzerland or Germany...?
    9/27 - Munich, Germany @ Kafe Kult
9/28 - Würzburg, Germany FreakShow ArtRock Festival!

Thanks for all your love and listening and support!

    - Matt

Allright then, I am a backer.

Too bad my music budget doesn't allow me the biggest backing plan. I know some great Cardiacs songs you could cover ;-)

Looking forward to the new cd and I will see if I can catch one of your European dates (although unfortunately none are close to the Netheerlands)

I was thinking the same thing. How do I justify a $1,000 donation to my wife ... But honey, they will write a song for us, or better yet, they will cover your favorite U2 song! The arguments just don't hold up for someone who is not uber-passionate about music.

I'll make an attempt to reach Carmaux this year, but I'm having doubts due to finances.

But it's really great to note progressive bands of THIS type are actually touring! GODSPEED!

Please note that the shows (or non-shows) on the 15th, 20th, 23rd, 24th and 26th are still pretty much up in the air... if anybody reading this is depressed we're not playing near you... help send us there!!!! Playing a gig is almost always better than a day off...
