One Off Prog acts (not from Italy)

Yeah, we know of all these amazing Italian bands from the 70's that made one album and disappeared forever. But how about from outside Italy? I was thinking about a bunch of these recently, and how disappointing it is to find a great group, and they are "one and done". Just curious what you guys can come up with. Here is my list so far off the top of my head:

Spiral Architect - awesome tech metal, my first time hearing that sub-genre. One of their members maded the group Twisted Into Form, similar musical territory.

Under the Sun - one of the best of the Magna Carta label -more of the mainstream side of prog, but some really well written songs.

Dali's Dilemma - kind of DT clone material, but well done.

Anomaly - great mix of fusion and prog metal. Thought they would be around for years. Guess not.

Altura - ok, not one of the better ones, they could come up with a string of decent ideas, but not very memorable songs.

Vauxdvihl - Great atmospheric prog metal from Australia

Volare, awesome Canterbury influenced band from Athens, GA.

Tryptic- Rabble, Gadgets, Divine... Fun 70s sounding, keyboard/vocal driven concept album from 1998.

Deadwood Forest- Mellodramatic- dark, indie-style prog release from 2000 iirc.

Both these discs still get spun here on occasion.

Ere G - lovely atmospheric symphonic from Quebec. A bit Hackett/Phillips/Jade Warrior - ish, maybe a slight touch of Harmonium. There are a few nice one-offs from Quebec, but Ere G may be my favorite of them. Et Cetera is another good one.

Off the top of my head:

Ad Infinitum - well produced late-90's neo-prog with gobs of analog keys, great vocalist, etc.
    Bad Dog U - PE's own Earnie's fusion masterpiece
Et Cetera - 70's Canadian GG-ish prog with female vocals (iirc)
Janison Edge - English neo-prog, like Landmarq (with overlapping personnel)

    Also:

Clockwork (Surface Tension) - interesting, complex prog metal on Laser's Edge/Sensory

And while we're on Laser's Edge, there's Somnabulist... OK, they did two albums, but you can almost make the case that it's two different bands that each did one album.

You just reminded me of one of my favorites: Wyzards ! Ok, that was probably intended as a one-off reunion to record tracks written 15-ish years earlier, but they did write at least one (excellent) new track for that release. I'd love to hear a new one by them some day.

D'oh... you'd think I would have thought of that one :P I wouldn't hold my breath for new Wyzards material

Hey, it's just stuff on my mind at the moment. And just metal? Nope. Plenty from all the other sub-genres I'm sure, I just went blank thinking of them.

Good call on both of these.

OK, thought of a few, and they are NOT prog-metal this time!

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

    Good calls on these:

    Anomaly
    Et Cetera
    Quiet Sun
    Weidorje
    Island - Pictures

I think the Tryptic is OK, but they don't quite send me over the top. Volare sort of has two albums, though one is sort of an assembly of earlier material so maybe that doesn't count.

    My contributions:

    Addison Project - Mood Swings
    Feliu i Joan Albert
    Apothecary
    Atlas - Bla Vardag
    Autumn - Oceanworld
    Blue Motion - Blue Motion
    Bubu - Anabelas
    Dun - Eros
    Gotic - Escenes
    Igzit Nine - Igzit Nine
It's The End (hopefully not one and done, but looking that way)
Oaksenham - Conquest of the Pacific
Other Side, The - A Higher Vantage Point (hopefully not one and done)
    Rahmann
    Sympozion - Kundabuffer
    Trilogy - Here it Is
Zombie et Ses Bizons, La - Herbe de Bizon
Zed - You Are Here (hopefully not one and done)

There are a bunch of South American bands that have only released one, but I'm still hoping for more, like Effecto, Fumigun, Algaravia, Altruismos, Arenal and others. But they are newer bands and may need more time, or they have released stuff that I'm just not aware of.

Awesome! If so, I was just paying it forward, because I learned about it from a thread just like this on PE years ago. It's one of my favorite all time albums.
