    MIRIODOR Performs at ProgDay 2013!

"What's left to be said about Miriodor that hasn't been said here and on just about every progressive rock review site throughout the web? Once heralded as 'Montreal's best kept progressive rock secret,' I think it is now safe to assume that the cat is out of the bag and people everywhere have come to realize that Miriodor is a musical juggernaut that just can't be stopped. With Avanti!, the band's seventh release, they merely managed to distance themselves from the competition by an even wider margin."
    - Yves Dubé, SEA OF TRANQUILITY

"What an amazing band ! I consider six of their seven studio albums as being essential... It's difficult to pick out a favourite because for me one doesn't really standout over the others, they're all amazing. A must for you adventurous music fans out there."
    - Mellotron Storm, PROGARCHIVES

With a musical legacy that spans almost thirty years, Miriodor is one of the finest progressive bands to ever emerge from Canada. The band's debut immediately established an individual musical vision that has continued to evolve and mature with each release. Whether this Canterbury/Experimental/Avant band is romping through whimsical, pleasant and accessible lands or turning its attention to more angular, darker, heavier territory, the trip is always intriguing and the musicianship is always jaw-droppingly proficient.

MIRIODOR will be making an exclusive and rare US appearance at ProgDay 2013 in celebration of its eighth album, Cobra Fakir, to be released at the end of the summer. The performance will feature material from the new release as well as favorites from the past.

MIRIODOR (Canada) will join SOUND OF CONTACT (US), THANK YOU SCIENTIST (US) and SIMAKDIALOG (Indonesia) at ProgDay 2013, the nineteenth edition of the world's longest running progressive rock festival. ProgDay 2013 will take place on Saturday, August 31st, and Sunday, September 1st, at Storybook Farm in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. For more information, and to hear music from all of this year's bands, please visit us at www.progday.net.

    Thanks!

    Michael

Saw them at an FMPM and they blew the room apart!

So far, a superb balance, Michael!

Awesome! They have been one of the top highlights at every festival that I've seen them at... and they are always a bit different each time. I am really looking forward to this year's ProgDay!

Very cool. It should be a great time of music and beer, but probably no soccer.

I missed a chance at seeing these guys twice which I regret. Hopefully I will be able to make it down this year.

I'm not familiar with Miriodor other than by name. As soon as I get the cash, I'll pick some up.

I recommend you start with their most recent release "Avanti!", then work your way back. Enjoy!

Here's a taste of what you people are in store for:

    Sweet stuff!

I know I saw them at NEARfest, but did I also see them at ProgFest or ProgScape? I feel like I did...

If you ever made it to FMPM, they were the unofficial "house band".

Miriodor played on day 1 of ProgScape '96, along with Still (Brett, Ray and Paul, first show post-Echolyn, I don't think they had even named the band yet), Fourth Estate and Porcupine Tree. Maybe I'm forgetting one more band?

I also saw them at a NEARfest pre-show one year, and of course, at Nfest proper. They really are a fantastic live band, and each show I've seen struck me as being unique and different from the others, so I'm looking forward to the next one.

^ Wow, I'd forgotten that I'd seen Still! Wow, so hard to remember which bands were at which ProgScapes. Boud Deun played at one of them.

My recollection is that Iluvatar got bumped to 2nd day of ProgScape 1996 because Glenn's voice was ailing, so Still opened the show in their stead.

In any case, I had never even heard of Miriodor, I was just discovering "new prog" and had mainly come to ProgScape '96 to see Iluvatar and Porcupine Tree, but Miriodor were fantastic.
