That's why its up to people like us to make sure this stuff gets heard. I've made perhaps the closest thing to a New Year's Resolution that I've ever made and that's to buy more modern releases this year. So far, with the exception of two early Banco albums, all I've bought in 2013 are brand new albums or at the least, ones made since 2000 by acts that are still alive and kicking. Kudos to PE for turning me onto new progressive music. I was getting a little sick of hearing "Selling England by the Pound" for the umpteenth time anyway... :-)

Quite depressing but also true. The new 12,000 capacity Hydro arena in Glasgow sold out Fleetwood Mac tickets in a couple of hours. I've been to some of the best gigs of my life recently in some very small venues with little more than 2 men and a dog. It's brilliant that music as good as this is still being produced now, but I wonder how sustainable the recent surge in new progressive music is. Apart from outlets that preach to the coverted, albums like this will get absolutely no promotion.
Rise above records did great job for promoting their album. And great album it is.

Hopefully my local indie has it. If so, I'll be buying a copy today. Loved their first disc.

Finally had a couple of good listens to this in the car this week. Amazingly good album, very "classic prog," yet also very new and modern. Cool, and probably one of my favorites for 2013.

    Except it's a 2012 album, it's very good.

And yet another proof that you can in fact pull off that unbearable task of rendering vital something which was thought to be completely, eternally dormant. In the UK, Sanguine Hum are successful at this as well - albeit with a different stylistic angle and an equally different outcome. Diagonal are great, just great!
