Jack Vance SciFi writer dies
Classic scifi writter Jack Vance died on Sunday 6-2-13 at 96 . I read his stuff as a kid and later. He was around so long I assumed he already was gone. Long life, left us many gifts. I really liked his work. RIP.

Big fan, though I need to reread some books soon. I was told he's not that big in the US than in Europe, although he seems habe fallen off the radar of Fantasy/SF-community entirely. Sad. George RR Martin is a fan though.

Knight of Labor
That’s really a pity, I’m a big fan of his stuff, especially the Dying Earth books and the Lyonesse trilogy.
Though to be fair, I thought he had died years ago.

That is indeed a very bad news. May his soul rest in peace.

Very sad. I just love his "Planet of Adventure" series, one of the reading foundations of my youth.

Sad! For some reason, the titles of his books "The Dirdir" and "The Pnume" go round my head a lot - I haven't even read them but I always liked the titles.

See my post above-they're part of that series!
