Pierre, read the Sunday lineup. Right before Tull.

Half of the NF people are waiting in the queue at the indian restaurant, the other half
are waiting in the queue at the italian restaurant (don't remember the name of the one
we were going to -it was very good- just before the bridge to the other
part of Bethlehem). A few lost souls are at Campus Pizza...

Before I leave town I'll have to get one of the famous Meat-Stick Bloody Marys that caused a small and exclusive cult to be born at the last NF. You all know who you are!

    Very funny!

With that lineup, you think I'd complain about Hawkwind? No way. Of course that would be my dinner & cigar break.

Geezer, it's nearly midnight - have you donned your Speedo and begun ingesting Absinthe in memory of NEARfest?

DAMN....Sitting home this weekend is really bumming me out!

If I knew how to set up a festival.......but then again, if I knew....I would probably bow out......But.....I got plenty of time......retired & no family......except for the virtual friends here......I think I'd give it a shot.....

it is not "hard". but it takes balls, an appetite for stress and financial risk, and willingness to do a lot of detailed grunt work and *constantly* publicizing it in some way shape or form... along with picking a diverse slate of well-known bands, up and coming 'buzz' bands, and some out of left field winners... it is an absolute shit-ton of work so you better love doing it. having top shelf production professionals willing to play an important role is essential also.

    That was an FMPM memory.

Thanks for responding Rob & Chad. . When I worked (25 years) I had an amazing stress load....now retired, I miss that adrenalin rush occasionally...it was a kinda...."if you screw this up, you could die" stress. The only unknown for me is lining up the talent. You two were AMAZING at that! Also, you guys had mucho professionalism in keeping any negative aspects to yourselves.....or, eventually turned it into humor.......think. 3 Mellotrons? Even so, this has been on my mind ever since I posted the above remarks. I remember something said about an "unsustainable business model".....That sounded to me like a challenge.....

In salute to NF this past weekend, I cued-up several of my favorite NF bands CDs and gave a good listen as I was tiling the backsplash of my kitchen. Not my number one way to salute NF but it was the best I could do citing my lengthy "honey-do" list.

You make it sound like a peace of cake!!!!!! Everyone should put on a festival. I deal with this in one hour at work.

Each day of the weekend I sighed when looking into my t-shirt drawer -seems half my shirts are NF ones. Still wore my Nearfest Apocalypse shirt on Saturday anyway. Hard to believe that was a year ago already.

I'll have to do it from the stage at the gig. But I'll be wearing my 2001 NF t-shirt!
