    The Muffins - Open City

    Honorable mentions:
UZ - mostly everything, but I'll choose Heresie
Heldon - ditto, but I'll choose Un Reve...
    Miriodor - Elastic Juggling
    Ahvak - S/t
Doctor Nerve - ditto UZ here too...but I'll pick Out To Bomb.../AO as my choice.
This still feels right to me, although the Art Zoyd box should definitely make the top 5. (And I would probably make Present's album the remastered/expanded Le Poison Qui...instead of the twofer.) Far Corner's Risk deserves honorable mention at least, as well.

    Deus Ex Machina - Imparis
Djam Karet - Night For Baku
    Guapo - 5 suns
    Muffins - Bandwidth

Forgas Band Phenomena - Oreille Electrique
    Far Corner - Risk

    Reissues:
    Muffins - Manna/mirage
    UZ - Hérésie
    Pinhas - Chronolyse
    Heldon - Stand By
    Elton Dean - Just Us
    Hopper - Tunity Box

    Archival:
Soft Machine - Noisette, Live in France, Grides, NDR Workshop, Switz 74

Any archival release involving Soft Machine nuggets and live shows - all essential and about as good as you'll find anywhere unless its some bootleg I dont know about.

I know, but I was thinking of the two pack at first when setting up the list, then forgot to correct it afterwards.

Given my recent list of fave cunie albums, I readpated my G2K ratings, coz some of them were inadapted when siding them with each other, cross-artiste wise.

    What does it even mean?

Most Canterbury ones, on top Wyatt 68, National Health : Missing pieces, Gilgamesh Arriving Twice, Machine Molle : Smoke Signals, Hugh Hopper ..H.tunitybox, Coxhill / Miller, I discovered recently the great Gary Windo compilation His Masters Bones ( btw best record with the ugliest cover :-)
    Synergetic Nuts is another winner
Dieter Moebius : "Art people like things they don’t understand!"

This is a great list. With the exception of Chrome Hoof everything here would be on my list too. I would add Bubblemath, Great Harry Hillman, Deus Ex Machina Devoto, and We are all Small Pixels.

Particularly loud shout-out is in order for the Art Zoyd box. What else can you immerse yourself in for an two weeks with *no duplication* of compositions? Amazing amount of top shelf material, scratches all sorts of itches.

Can't believe it's been 6 years since the last Chrome Hoof album. That was a very pleasant surprise. Not the kind of music I listen regularly, but that was an amazing album.

So much extraordinary music that Steve/ Cuneiform are responsible for getting out there. Most of my favorites have been mentioned.

If you held my feet to the fire and forced me to "name names", Wadada Leo Smith's monumental Ten Freedom Summers, Robert Wyatt's '68 and anything by Curlew would float to the very top. But this is arbitrary. I have never regretted a purchase from Cuneiform.

OK, this one goes out to Mr. Feignenbaum, and he gets to be put on the spot too - how fun for him!

A few questions Steve, if he (you? are you out there Steve?) doesn't mind....(Would he click on a Cuneiform thread? hmmmmm). Yes, here's we's go's -

*What are your 5 favorite Cuneiform titles from 2000 - Present?

*What are your 5 favorite Cuneiform albums EVER? Holey Shite! (note the religious spelling), can he actually do it?!

I can't give you 5 at the moment, but I do know that Ceux du Dehors is in there, so my list is forthcoming.

OK, you can all play along if you want. One of the very best record companies ever, in my not-so-humble opinion. So, a sincere thanks for creating a beyond amazing and vast catalog that some of us lucky folks know and enjoy.

    My favorite of all-time:

    1) Ceux du Dehors (note the French spelling)

    2 - 5) To be continued
I don't know why i always assume you're a fellow Canuck. Spelling things correctly and whatnot

Cuneiform - so many wonderful releases i couldn't even. However, i LOVED History of Madness, possibly my favourite Plague album, actually. Followed hotly, i'd humbly add, by Decline and Fall

But i discovered so much music over the decades via Steve and company. Universe Zero, the various post Egg, post Hatfield, post Soft doings of Hugh Hopper and that crowd, Phil Milner.... well, all the great jazz and avant stuff really. Alway excellent and tasty. I don't think i'd have half my collection were it not for that label

Nice to see them getting some love here. As always, well deserved. Keep it real, Dr. Feigenbaum
And the code is a play, a play is a song, a song is a film, a film is a dance...

I'm revisiting Zaar this morning. I love absolutely everything about this album. Another Cuneiform great.
