Anything can be crossfaded to sound like a continuous piece. Based on the account in Sid's book, this was a separate take. To quote Ian McDonald : "We'd just recorded Moonchild and Mike's drums were set up with the muted sound to them..."

Fripp's New Year message on DGMLive implied news on this and the Court boxed set would be forthcoming. A release date of "early 2020" has been mentioned for the box, so hopefully the doc will follow in the not too distant future.

It did say we’ll get news on both “soon”, so imagine at some point in the next few weeks!

The updated 600 page leviathan of a book has arrived and I’m sure that will consume me for a bit here - tons of content in that thing!

Does this new version of the book go up through the current KC lineup?
Or does it stop at the last studio album?

Yes, it does. It is very thoroughly explored.

Last 30 pages or so of the book proper is all about the current band. At various parts in the book, there will be a page or two about the current band, which will tie into whatever that chapter is about so that’s cool. Only browsed it, but lots of cool info and the overall proper narrative is almost 400 pages long so tons of content.

Last 200 pages is a post-crimson biography of former members, a song by song analysis of every studio song, and a gigography that ends with the 2003 tour.

I’d say for anyone curious about the inner workings of this band, would be a great pickup.

I read the original version, so I was curious.
    Thanks for the info

I went right to the source and got it at DGM. You can have it shipped Media Mail and save some bucks. It arrived quickly and packaged in bubble wrap, so I was impressed!

He’s right - I got mine for just south of $30 all inclusive of shipping via DGM using media mail. It’s quite the big heavy book with lots of cool info in there, especially all the post-2003 content which covers the last 15 years, not covered in the original.

For any who might have missed it, and want some of their questions answered, my review of Sid’s book here.

I think it’s very important to reiterate this: this isn’t material added; it’s a total rewrite, and isn’t just better for it’s added depth, it’s better because, 20 years on, Sid is, quite simply, a far better writer than he was when he wrote that first book.

By no means suggesting he wasn’t good in 2000, only that he’s substantially better now (as you’d hope). So, in addition to all the added detail and history, it’s an even better, more engagement read.

I can hardly wait for the exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the forthcoming official King Crimson documentary.

At 0:20 Gavin H. quotes the spouse of every Crim fan each time a box is released.

Obviously unclear from the article, although I would think if it was Dweezil's outfit they would have specified that. The "hologram" band has done several gigs without the hologram; that's what I would hope it to be.

Dweezil has a festival gig in Italy on July 5, so he probably won't be on a North American tour in "early July." Must be the other, then, with or without virtual Frank.
