    My initial thoughts...

    1. I wish there were at least a couple of dates west of the Mississippi.

    2. Some of these venues are EXACTLY the types of venues (outdoor sheds) where I would not want to see King Crimson.

Still, I'm sure I'll end up attending at least a couple of shows.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

A more complete list of dates, including Ravinia near Chicago. Unfortunately, since it's one of the "Festivals", that means no Zappa Band.

Wifey and I are thinking of a couple of dates. We’re going to try and line it up with a baseball trip so Chicago, Baltimore and Boston (all cities with baseball stadiums we really would like to go to) are all definite maybes.

    Probably Cary, too.
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.

DGM page still says Zappa band for ravinia, but we’ll see. Ravinia isn’t a real festival......more just a series of unrelated shows all summer long.

The email from DGM Live included this: "All the dates, except festivals, will be double bills with the Zappa Band.", and on the DGM site, the July 5th entry is for the "Ravinia Festival", which is what it's always been known as. I'd be more than happy to be wrong!

Hmmm...I was originally going to avoid this one, but it's coming very close to me, so I might fold and go. I'll keep an eye on ticket prices.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

As far as I know we’re doing those festivals, but because they’re festivals, they aren’t “double bills” y’see. A wee bit of semantic confusion going on I think. Later I’ll double check the Crimson schedule against the itinerary I got today and see whassup.

I have to say the tour date in Huber Heights, OH is kinda blowing my mind. My husband is from there originally and I went to visit his family a few years back. I seriously can't picture anyone in Huber Heights listening to King Crimson, nor could I imagine Fripp eating a giant plate of goldstar chili.

hope they add some western dates with Phoenix included
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Don’t hold your breath - they were pretty clear in the press release about this being it besides a festival or two to be announced. For whatever reason, they chose to do eastern US and Canada only this year. Imagine some function of the various band members schedules (see Gavin with pineapple thief).

I can't imagine Fripp tolerating a festival crowd. I'm not sure about the type of festivals, but I wouldn't expect them to respect the no cameras and phones during performance rule.

^ They played festivals on the previous tour, including Rock In Rio which was massive. Being he didn't kill anyone, the shows were played, and they are doing more festivals this time, it seems he is fine with those types of crowds.

Double checked my itinerary - yes, we’re doing Chicago/Ravinia, as well as the Quebec and Ottawa festivals.

    Good Day...

Hey now, in my youth I lived in both Huber Heights, and just down the highway in Middletown, Ohio. Your comments made me chuckle for sure BUT, from a business perspective, for 'Prog' type bands (and rather accepted in the overall Mid-West). Huber Heights is certainly 'doable' from a fairly large swathe of people. Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Indianapolis... even Toledo and Detroit.

WHAT... and no mention of Sliders from White Castle???

    Carry On

Goldstar chili is significantly worse than White Castle sliders.
