It would include Clutch, and then probably Sitting Targets, Patience, and let's say As Close As This and ... already changed my mind.

But I do want to make a plug for Clutch

I'm surprised there's not more love for Singularity. IMO it ranks with his very best.

For me one of the few things pH and Dylan share (besides both being able to number me among their more slavish fan-boys) is that they have both gone through very arid patches only to come out the other side with a new batch of masterpieces to share. IMO pH didn't do much of note in the 80s until the great double header of Usher and Fireships; then slipped again through the 90s - only X My Heart and This (both superb) - standing out.

Something happened, and from Incoherence on he's been consistently exciting.

Does it matter that this waste of time is what makes a life for you?

Well, he's been incoherently but inconsistantly good since Incoherent...

IN a foreign town is a remarkable choice since it is considered one of his weakest oming Hammill fans. I think the album has some great songs that are just made ugly by horrible arragement. Songs like Auto and sun city nightlife are barely listenable for me.

What, Now? is certainly an undervalued record in his discography. For me no top-5 material but I like it better then most records from the same period. Not a weak track and lots of variation. The closing track 'enough' is one of the most dark chilling songs he ever did and it (almost) rivals 'fogwalking'.
