Steve, what did you think of the new songs?

I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
Here is a pretty good youtube vid from the show. Whoever took this was standing a few feet behind me as you can see the back of my head (in black Tigers hat) bopping around during much of the shot.

Thanks for the vids Steve, especially Thorazine Shuffle, my favorite Mule tune.
I love Warren/Mule and sorry I missed them in Ct a couple weeks ago.

Bonnaroo Hosted a "Joker"-Off
On Saturday afternoon, jam band Gov't Mule played a crowd-pleasing version of the Steve Miller Band's "The Joker." Only a few hours later, on the same stage, headliner Jack Johnson covered the same song, oddly. Who sang it best? That is up for debate. But this "Joker" double-header indicated one thing: Steve Miller should really be invited to headline Bonnaroo next year. No joke.
Wow!
That War Pigs killed!
Warren's got Fat Time.
Everything he plays is just a hair behind, making the sound heavy & thick.
And that Les Paul tone..., to die for!

Larger Than Life is frome DOSE, their second album.
I think Scared to Live is one on the new ones.

Steve.....Monday Mourning Meltdown is one of my favorite Mule songs!
What’s the best Gov’t Mule album, guitar-solo wise? I’ve listened to a bit of them over the years and like them. I like the song “Down and Out in NYC”
First two albums: S/T and Dose. Highly recommended.
The first two are their "power trio" albums and Warren is blazing on guitar. Later on they added keys, lost their bass player, did two albums of covers/originals with a host of bass players (including Chris Squire), and then added a new thundering bass player. I think the songwriting is better as they went on but there's a primal fury to those early efforts. These guys live to play live and about any live album is worth a listen.
