    Il Balletto di Bronzo

If you like your prog a bit crazy and Gentle Gianty then check out this great Italian prog band Il Balletto de Bronzo from the late 60's/early 70's - their second record Ys is the one. Some of the finest prog I've ever heard.

I think most members here are quite familiar with Il Balletto di Bronzo.

And yes, I agree on the quality of YS, it is a desert island disc for me. Essential.

    EDIT: welcome to Prg Ears!

Welcome. You might check out the recent thread about IBdiB:

She was gold alright, but then so is rust.

Yes, a very recent thread indeed.

I would not compare Il Balletto Di Bronzo with Gentle Giant in my opinion there style of music is completly different then Gentle Giant's! Top tier Italian prog for sure!

indeed! I think each represent their respective cultures well. GG sound *unmistakeably* English and IBdB are exemplary of great Italian, heavy, Symph style Prog.
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?
