I still just fine The Sea Within "okay". I love Daniel's vocals, but sort of feel like those and Roine's guitar solos are the only emotional aspect to the whole thing. Just seem too slick to me, though admittedly I'm starting to feel that way about a lot of modern prog. That said, it's certainly filled with excellent musicianship, I just find the songs don't do a whole lot for me. I still need to listen to it more though, as I've probably only played it through 4 or 5 times so far.
As to the last two TFK albums, I felt they just weren't really up to par with their previous work. I like them well enough, they just seem to have lost the feel and quirkiness of the older material for me. Once again, a little too "FK's by numbers" for me (as well as sounding stripped down, which isn't a good thing for TFK's IMO), at least Banks. DR I like a bit better, as it does seem to really be them trying to do things a bit differently (coming up with most of the material in the studio, as opposed to having everything ready to go before recording). The bonus CD on DR is my favorite out of both albums.
