    Circus All-Star Band Live

Haven't been able to find a lot about this LP

Apparently not a "Circus" proper release, but a straight up all star team

Anyone know any more about the players?

    Line-up from PA:

    MARCO ZERLETTI - BASS
    ANDREAS GRIEDER - SAX, FLUTE
    STEPHAN AMMANN - KEYBOARDS
    DITSCHGI GUTZWILLER - DRUMS
    SHIVER SCHAFER - GUITARS
    ROLAND FREI - VOCALS
    FRITZ HAUSER - DRUMS
    CORINA CORSCHELLAS - VOCALS
    THEODOR JOST - TRUMPET
    POLO HOFER - VOCALS
    ALAN SOLOMON - Sax

Corina's voice is mint - would love to know what bands these folks played in

All I know is that it's a damn strong album.

I've only heard bits of this on YT
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

    It's

    Schifer Schafer
    Corin Curschellas

from here Google is your friend.

Polo Hofer is a swiss staple. He played in Rumpelstilz and had his own band "Polo Hofer's Schmetterding". It's not prog at all.

PS: I don't know this album, although I know and love the other 3 Circus albums.

I happened upon it a few months back and it's survived a carpet bomb of spins

"Driving Wheel" is a great, great cut

I've been bugging Vicky from Esoteric for years now, to reissue this and the 3 other Circus-albums, of which only "Movin' On" existed shortly on CD. But the band seems reluctant, I can't for one understand why. Maybe Vicky could shed a light about the current status.

    The actual line up:

    (Circus)
    Roland Frei Vocals
    Marco Cerletti Bass
    Andreas Grieder Sax, Flute
    Stephan Ammann Keyboards
    Fritz Hauser Drums

(Rumpelstilz, Phallus, Meridies, Im Bode Band, Skibbereen ,Soul Set)
    Ditschgi Gutzwiller Drums
    Shiver Schafer Guitars
    Corina Corschellas Vocals
    Theodor Jost Trumpet
    Polo Hofer Vocals
    Alan Solomon Sax
    Eric Flückiger Guitar
    Kathryn Gurewitsch Vocals

This one is often mistaken for a Circus live Album which it ain't. This was a promo tour for Swiss rock Music.
Circus were the only complete band plus members of the above mentioned bands (Pop,folk, rock etc.).

Augusta Rauricorum is actually a live performance of "Movin' On" named after latin name of the town
were it was performed. The other Songs feature Circus musicans but are no Circus material.

Note that Alan Solomon from Warm Dust plays on this nice live Album.

Sadly Marco Cerletti seems to be the rights owner, and he refuses any attempt of rereleases.
I Emailed with other members (Frei and Ammann) who were very intererested in releasing
    the albums.

Do you know why Marco refuses rereleases? I can't think of a reason, other than the sheer sadistic Ramsay Bolton-like pleasure in tortoring the fans?

Don't know exactly. From what I read between the lines of my comunication with Ammann and Sireena Records (they were trying to release the Albums a few years ago), it
seems Cerletti doesn't care and has no interest in spending time in this, as he says he is to busy building up his own company (no idea what he is doing).

I believe there is some personal fuzz envolved.

That must be the case, because just saying 'yes' to Esoteric, conducting one or two interviews for the booklets, and signing some legal papers will hardly cost a lot of time. Let alone the revenue they'll be getting for it. Thousands and thousands of Swiss Franks, a jaguar for all the ex-members and their children and grandchildren, and on top of that the eternal grateful thanks of their worldwide fans. So whatever the personal fuzz is, better call Dr. Phil, to sort this out.

How bout if I put "Movin' On" (the lone CD I own) at progstreamingclassic.com, make a 'nameyourprice'-Bandcamp, and then count how long it will take Cerletti to respond?

So these are the bands which the all-stars represent?

Are there any "must haves" from them anyone would recommend?

I wouldn't be surprised if Rumplestilz is Rumple Stilzken Commune. (http://rateyourmusic.com/artist/rumple_stiltzken_comune) I have the CD, and iirc, it's pretty middling. I don't think I cared for the vocals.

Skibbereen is Swiss musicians playing Irish Folk music, if I'm not mistaken. I haven't heard it, but most Continental albums like that suffer a bit.

No there is no connection at all, also no prog at all. Watching the below vid is at own risk

Apart from Circus, Ammann and Hauser were in Blue Motion, whose one album was quite excellent.

I was lucky to get it while it was still in print. It needs a re-press badly. One of my most-loved Swiss items.

I actually had the numered original Vinyl and cause of that refused the offer of a free CD by Ammann.
Later I sold the vinyl (silly me), and now I can't get the CD anymore....

I bought the CD sometime earlier this year. I don't recall what I paid, but it wasn't exorbitant.

OK, I've had the Blue motion for quite a while now and I've just placed it in the Belle Antique Circus boxset (there was space for it).

What an expense that was. Including custom taxes (43€), it came to +/- 200€.

Not going to repeat that for only four albums.

Currently listening to the All-Star Circus Band Live for the first time in my life

    Beautyfull job overall.
