Jus Primae Nocto (JPN) - Istinto (2020)

The strange thing is, people seem to have completely missed this incredible band here!
Released last year and perhaps the best thing in years! I listened to it last year and forgot about it
Haven't bought it yet, but will soon.
CD is not easy to find.

Unexpected, as usually NG took at least 4 years between albums. They have released "Sonnar" last year so I did not see this one coming. I guess they put their lockdown free time to good use

Must be the case, although most of the other bands seem to be totally stuck as you can see in the very few releases this year form Italy.
Discovered this one by accident only as I wasn't looking out for another release by them so soon.

It's a two track album by the way (both over 20 min).

Listening to this on Spotify, now that you've hipped us to it. Here's a review of the album on Exposé's website:

^ "I would go home as I remember my vegetable garden" has to be one of the all-time great lyrics.

The Osanna is very enjoyable. It's comfort prog but I like being comfortable sometimes.

Not a guy but a band. Name translates to Gordian knot.

It's a bit slow here, so I just pulled this out of my collection. I'd forgotten buying it, and I probably never gave it a good listen, but I just did and it's pretty awesome! Not new, it's Odessa - "Stazione Getsemani" from 1999. Here's a good track:

That's great news! I hope it's the same or close to the same personnel.

Will this be released on CD as well? On RYM, "H.E.X." has the highest rating of all NG albums. The two song excerpts I heard are very good.

Never mind it, I see on their BandCamp page that there is a CD issue by Lizard Records that can be purchased. Again, shipping is more expensive than the CD itself.

I guess it's the new tunes that count on this one. Always a big admirer of Di Palo's voice. I'm glad he joined Gianni Belleno on this one.
