Glad I checked in. Lot's of new Pasta! Yummy!
Violin led band Armonite will release their third album "And the Stars Above" soon..
(feat. Colin Edwin of PT on 6 tracks)
La Coscienza di Zeno Live Album out this week..
Aurora Lunare are back (I'm a great fan of their (real) first album). Not what I was hoping for but better than nothing:
an album of tribute songs (some where released before).
New hopefuls Melting Clock (one of their members is on PE), hope it's not to far until their debut album!
Also Luca Scherani is working not only on Höstsonaten's Ancient Mariner 2 but also on a new solo album and
the comeback album of his first band Trama (with Gabriele Guidi Colombi). Luca was replaced by no one
else then Elisa Montaldo back then, so Trama gave birth to LdC and TdC.
I´m really digging this one: a winner IMHO!.
Calibro 35 - Decade.
“Italian cinematic funk heroes Calibro 35 release their new studio album “DECADE” and celebrate 10 years. “
“it’s the very first album recorded by Calibro with an orchestral-inspired enlarged line-up that features horns, strings and percussions.”

Really love this band Panther & C. Have both albums.
I simply can't let this thread fall down any further.. But there is not much going on this year in Italy...
Great new band, that I know nothing about... I know I heard that vocalist before.. can't nail it..
(Francesco Ciapica from TdC?)

la Dottrina degli Opposti "Arrivederci sogni" https://altrockproductions.bandcamp....ivederci-sogni
La Dottrina degli Opposti is a creative project by the Genoese musician Andrea Lotti, composer and author of the pieces, as well as the founder of the La Coscienza di Zeno group. The ensemble formed for the realization of the project sees the participation of more than thirty elements, including members from different progressive formations already established in the sector, such as La Conscienza di Zeno and the Tempio delle Clessidre, and the orchestra of the G.F. Ghedini from Cuneo. Most of the arrangements are also performed by the orchestra and the taste of the album definitely refers some episodes of the great classics of Italian progressive rock of the 70s. The melodies and pastel shades of the timbres make the mood of the album very smooth, dreamy, a new episode of symphonic prog that continues in the wake of the great tradition of Italian symphonic prog. The common thread that links the various themes of the album is the transition from adolescence to adulthood, enchantment and disenchantment, dream and awakening, hence the title Arrivederci Sogni.
Thanx for the info, I should have added "so far" in my comment. There are easily 30-40 albums in the making (some for years) that I'm aware of.
la Dottrina degli Opposti is already on the way to me. Listened to it on bandcamp for days, great album!
Actually I wasn't really aware only of "La Stella Rossa Del Kinotto", they somehow escaped me...
Other ones:
Armonite - 'And the Stars above' May 25th (Violin Prog)
La Bottega del Tempo a Vapore - "Viaggi InVersi" (April) (Prog,Prog Metal)
Nice to see that Trama from Genua are finally going to release their second album (the first is from '99), it was rumored about for many years now.
(thanx again mogilevs)
Very nice Sympho Prog (suitable for Neo Prog weenies). Actually the band was somehow the birth cell for La Coscienza di Zeno and Il Tempio delle Clessidre.
(Elisa Montaldo once replaced Luca Scherani in that band and went on to play with Gabriele Guidi Colombi (bass player of Trama, co founder of TdC, CdZ and Not a Good Sign)

I like that Melting Clock, although it's not as obviously Italian as most of what we hear from over there.
By the way Goad just released a new album "Landor" (2CD) (new album plus live CD)
Hi!
Right now we are working on the last details of our songs and we are almost ready to start recording them. I can't give you an ETA yet, 'cause we have to match our schedule with our sound engineer that right now is in tour with his group and probably will be busy for a couple of months.
I'll keep you posted!
Thank you very much for your interest!
The albums by Caibro 35 and La Dottrina degli Opposti are excellent. Thanks for the tips.
Teaser for the second album by Nathan (out on 12th April):
Looks like there will be a live album by Spettri soon (which might also be their swan song)
