^The last Priest album I will set aside my time for.
Listening to:
Band: Crimson Glory
Album: Transcendance
I'm really liking this one. A little bit old school. Luis Nasser had this posted on Facebook. The vocals remind me a little of Tobias from Ghost.

I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
On a Budgie binge and YT suggested:
Great Budgie song, and a thrashy cover version. I dig it.
Out of the blue this morning, I decided to try a W.A.S.P. album from later in their catalogue. I hadn't heard them since probably high school, and even then I don't remember anything about their music, only their 'image'. I was pleasantly surprised at how good this album (Babylon) sounds! I have no idea how it stands up to anything else they did, or how they are viewed in general. I only know that I ignored them for 35 years based on how silly I assumed they were. But this is solid - if far from groundbreaking - stuff. Maybe I'll try another album soon!

^ ha nice. Think I heard them once, probably in high school in the late 80s. I spun Burzum Filosofem today....its cool. Vintage black metal in a nice lo-fi fog. Also Opeth of course!
First track on that album. I'd say this is sepia-toned.

Found this album (and channel) on a little black metal binge I'm on. The crazy fast blastbeat grooves found in BM gets olde after a while, I really dig it when these bands get down and dirty with the grooves. I think atmosphere is the most important aspect of metal for me.
Black metal phases tend to be short-lived for me, but there are certain bands/albums that really appeal to my tastes (I also like atmosphere). I've had this CD (Thy Serpent - Forests Of Witchery) for many years now and it comes off the shelf now and then. Those little keyboard moments are like a warm buzz after a couple of drinks.

^ Nice, I'll definitely check it out. Sometimes these obscure bands press that special button. I did a metal binge last autumn too - 'tis the seasssssssssssoooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.....!!!!!
The YT Algorithm suggested:
I think they're contemporary but they're retro-early 80s hard, heavy metal. Not thrash or glam, just heavy, traditional, metal. A little NWOBHM too.
I enjoyed that Thy Serpent album....cheers 'Lornetron
