This album seems to get slammed by a lot of Priest fans, but I think it is great stuff too.

They have never played my area either as far as I know. Would love to catch them live too.

^ I think it is brilliant. It's, melodic, but fast and technical. Tony Moore has a wonderful voice.

Well, if you're a Dio fan, you love it. That's the album with Jens Johansson on keys, too.

    Killing the Dragon
is my favorite of his post-80s albums. (I know LUTW is an official 1990 release, but "Wild One" was released as a single in '89.)

I actually just picked up "Killing The Dragon" recently and agree it is a good one. I like "Magica" a lot too.

I'm not sure it is really metal, but one of my favorites is In Extremo:

    Listening to RIOT......Immortal Soul.

Amazing how this band changed styles with each lead singer. Tony Moore is awesome. The speed, power metal style gets tiresome after a while. Army of One sounds like an entirely different band. It's bluesy and groovie.

Vic, familiar with Warrior's 1985 record Fighting for the Earth? One of the best metal albums nobody talks about anymore.

Didn't hear the whole album. Not bad. Not hair metal, not thrash metal. I guess it's power metal.

No, but I plan to check it out. Sounds right up my {dark} alley. Thanks for posting, Duncan!

    NP: Trouble.........The Skull.

It's Black, meets Judas, meets Iron. But it's mostly Sabbath.

Trouble's a great band. Don't hear much Maiden in their sound, though.

Yeah I only thought of Maiden because of some harmony guitar leads in spots and they sound so British on those early albums. I'm going thru the whole discography. Their sound changed in the 90s. More straight, American style metal. Still pretty rocking stuff.

I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

    NP: Trouble........Simple Mind Condition.

I'm digging this album a lot more than For Those Which Are Asleep by The Skull.
