Not really metal but heavy in a kind of AC/DC way. The Cult - Electric. Damn is it tasty. Listening to Sonic Temple now.

RIP Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom). I have heard a few albums and generally liked it (melodic death metal-ish). He was an outstanding guitar player.

    That's different!

    And different is good, IMO.

Definitely worth a spin on Bandcamp - I think I'll splash out on it.

    Um, yeah

Oddly catchy, and just when I start to tune out they switch it up and I'm back in. And that's just the first tune.

    Thanks!!

What do you guys thing of this track (track 7, it's the only one that's released yet, as of 1/21/21)?

Musically, it's nice! A tiny bit like stoner metal but also I get Porcupine Tree vibes too (maybe that's just me). The vocals are a mixed bag for me, although the dude is clearly talented.

    Thanks!
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

Also, Ephemeral Sun: it's a thing and we like making things that might be your thing: https://ephemeralsun.bandcamp.com

It's spelled Dvne but pronounced "Dune." A crafty way to use the "Dune" universe but avoid lawsuits? They seem to be very popular on Bandcamp.

Just saw this in my inbox: An upcoming DC Comics mini-series will include cover art featuring Dream Theater, Opeth, Ozzy, Ghost, Megadeth, and more...

^^ That's way cool - acts like Dream Theater, Opeth, Lacuna Coil are being brought to a mainstream audience.

I've been rocking a lot of Jinjer over the last couple of years. For me, they are one of the most interesting bands to come along in years. Musicianship is great, riffage is great... and then there is Tatiana. I've heard girls sing clean, I've heard girls sing dirty, but I've never heard one flick between the beauty and the beast so quickly and precisely. It doesn't hurt that she's gorgeous as well, obvs. This is one of the few bands I would actually make the effort to travel to see.

Is there any metal (I don't know all the sub genres...) with the imagery of Lord of the Rings, but sort of epic, grand, heroic? I guess those are sort of descriptions of the books too. Just wondering.

I'm sure there is, although it's nothing I personally have sought out.

Found this page on a Google search...it's formatted for crap on my laptop but might be better for you: http://www.metalstorm.net/users/list.php?list_id=3166

Ok, thanks, Battema, I can see it on my desktop. I'll look them over.

I've been digging Volur lately. Sort of a gothic/chamber/death metal/folk trio from Toronto:
