Full disclosure: I work for these guys (built their new website, laid out the cd packaging for the new album, etc) but I was a fan from the moment I heard their debut album in 2007. The new album "In Extremis" includes guest appearances by Rick Wakeman, Tony Levin, Peter Banks, Colin Moulding and Billy Sherwood.
(also, I had an account on PE for a years but apparently it has lapsed or been lost in the transition to the news site)
Here's a blurb from Prog Magazine's website today:
Los Angeles based prog duo Days Between Stations will release their second album In Extremis on May 15, featuring a host of guests including one of the last recordings by late Yes co-founder Peter Banks.
It also includes work by Rick Wakeman and Billy Sherwood, plus Tony Levin of King Crimson and Colin Moulding of XTC.
Days Between Stations guitarist Sepand Samzadeh says: “On the track Eggshell Man Rick, Billy and Peter play together. Sadly Peter passed away during the making of In Extremis – making these recordings even more meaningful and special to us.”
Discussing how their approach has changed since the release of their 2007 self-titled debut, he explains: “We’re five years older, which means we’ve grown as players and have higher expectations of ourselves.”
One major change is the addition of vocals and lyrics to the band’s sound, with Moulding’s help. “The debut album provides landscapes and layers of sound that allow the imagination to run free,” says Samzadeh. “A negative aspect of having vocals is that the mind mainly focuses on the rhythm and lyrical content and often constrains the music. We wanted a healthy marriage between the two.”

Listening to Delicious Agony now. I like Delicious Agony, but it always seems to be on Autopilot. I actually can't even tell right now if it's on autopilot or not.

I got this album in the mail three days ago and after a few spins I must say that it looks like one of the winners for 2013. Up there with the likes of Steve Wilson's Raven, I must say. Stellar performances from the many guests. Eggshell Man is my favorite. Wakeman is magnificent on it.

Loving this album; a poignant mixture of melancholy, drama and spirit. The starkness of the first album is diminished a bit with some warmth but there are still striking moments of starkness. I find the vocals contribute to both ends of the spectrum: Colin's vocal on "The Man Who Died Two Times" convey energy and warmth compared with Sherwoods' vocal opening to "In Extremis" which is deliberately deeply emotionless and thus very affecting.
It seems this album is getting on a lot of "Best of 2013" lists and you would do yourself well to check it out - support this band as they are an independent, grass-roots operation! http://www.daysbetweenstations.com

It was posted somewhere else, but since the band also has some threads with their name in it, here's a new post about Giants, the new DBS: https://www.daysbetweenstations.com/
Billy Sherwood has become an important guest. There are a lot of moments I think I hear World Trade of Yes, although it doesn't become a copy of those groups.
