    Vale Sir Colin Davis

My love of Berlioz is due to this man's inspired conducting, but I also discovered Michael Tippett through Sir Colin's marvellous recording of The Midsummer Marriage.

    A very fine musician.

Does it matter that this waste of time is what makes a life for you?

Sad, but he had a good innings. The Proms were always best with CD.

Here is the proper obit from The Grauniad.

Davis and the London Symphony Orchestra did my very favorite Sibelius Symphonies. I've got the complete set. I recommend it.
