    Jim Gordon

    Really like his drumming style. What should I check out other than his work with Eric Clapton, Frank Zappa and Steve Hunter? Thanks

    He also played with James Brown, but is best known for flipping out and killing his mother.

    Since you mention Zappa, i'm assuming you have Imaginary Diseases (recorded live in 1972) already? That's an excellent showcase for the instrumental talents of that band (including Gordon). {Can't believe i'm giving the ZFT a plug but that one is worth it!}

    There's a wiki entry if ever there was one.

    I believe he was the drummer on Nillson's "Jump Into the Fire".
    His greatest musical contribution, imo, is the piano outro bridge on Layla. He wrote and played that.

    Thanks for the responses. I have Imaginary Diseases, one of my favorites of the ZFT releases. Too bad Gordon didn't do more prog and jazz rock before he went nuts.
