New Marillion Live 2DVD/3CD - "Clocks Already Ticking"

If it's Wednesday, there must be a new Marillion DVD! In this case, a 2DVD/3CD from last Friday night in Wolverhampton - another record-making/breaking mixed and edited during the show and on sale at the end production. An auto buy (already autobought) for me, of course.

I got it at the show and I just finished watching most of disc 2. Amazing that they could pull this off in a few hours. The show ended at 11 and they had this ready at 7:30am the next morning. It really does have a professional feel to it. Not perfect, but damn good given the time constraints. I just love the bit where Hogarth toasts Fish. Good stuff.

This is a must-buy for me as it has the Radiation album live = Radiation has two of my very favorite M's songs, Cathedral Walls and especially A Few Words For The Dead.

If only ELP and King Crimson in 1973-74 were able to do this........
    ...or you could love

From what i've watched of these DVDs and heard from the live CDs, Marillion live seem to make some of the worst choices possible with some of their most pivotal pieces; two examples: the dropping-the-ball versions of the high points in The Sky Above The Rain ("maybe they'll talk...") and Falling From The Moon ("don't ask me why i'm doing this")...off the top of my head...are those just one-off decisions?

I wish more bands would release DVDs as consistent as Marillion or Rush. Or at least go back in their archives and give us something definitive from their peak.

I'll keep watching my Brave Live 2002 version. My financial adviser had to stop me of buying every DVD the band make available.

Does the Web shop still let you see EVERYTHING you've ever bought from them? That's scary to look at.

I cannot wait to get the Brave DVD. That was the first time I've ever seen it performed live and it was outstanding. Definitely my favorite album from them and I love the Fish years.

FYI, If I am not mistaken the Brave performance was shot at the Port Zelande (the Netherlands) weekend. I think the plan is / was to shoot all 3 nights but not at every weekend. So we got Brave, Wolverhampton was the Radiation night and Montreal should then be the last night. The Brave one is going to be pre-ordered as soon as I can do that because that was one helluva performance and it looked amazing. Given the reputation of director Tim Sidwell this one is going to look great on dvd.

Yes it does. Just looked at mine! Ordered this set too.
