    Camel 2013 Tour

Camel and Andy Latimer has returned to the stage! Check out www.camelproductions.com for dates. New dates are still being added. Set one will likely be the whole of the Snow Goose album, but Set two will be a surprise setlist..! Fantastic to see the return of Andy and the guys. A new Camel album seems to be in the making too!

Well the site just says they are 'discussing possibilities of a 'Retirement Sucks' tour in Sept/Oct', unless I'm missing something?

I'm getting that now too. Yesterday there was a link on the News section to an updated section, but today it's gone!

Nice. I hope they play up in the Pacific Northwest. My wife has never seen them.

Latimer is the only original member anymore correct?
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Andrew Latimer 'is' Camel and Camel is whoever he invites to play with him and they are very lucky people.

I highly doubt that they will do any gig in the US. Remember, Camel isn't based there anymore but has moved back to the UK.

Yes - the line-up announced is the same as the 2000 tour - Latimer, Bass, LeBlanc and Clément.

I hope they make decent recordings of those shows both audio and video...

I thought I read somewhere that they plan to make a recording of the event. That'd be awesome.

I doubt they'll come to the US, though that too would be awesome.

Yeah, Colin Bass has been the regular bass player since I Can See Your House From Here (though others have done a few tracks here and/or there). Clement and LeBlanc have been in the band since the Rajaz tour (except the ANAAW tour, when LeBlanc had to tend to personal matters). So, Latimer is the only "original member," but the rest of the band have plenty of Camel experience.

Well, one of my favorite things about Camel is the drumming of Andy Ward, so for me at least, it's less than Camel without him.

Holy crap! That's great news. Only UK dates so far so we'll see what gets added. Andy did move back to the UK at some point a few years back right?

Further dates in Germany added on CP! This looks like a real European tour! There are rumours about at least three dates in Spain too!!

Tonight I received a weird email from my pal. Seems like I've "won" a ticket for one of the Dutch gigs!? A friend of him was so happy with the news of Camel coming to Holland, and me confirming it, that he offered me a free ticket! Will see what that actually means Would be great though. Tickets aren't cheap over here.

"Very, very nice," said a man in the crowd,
    When the golden voice appeared.
She was gold alright, but then so is rust.
"Such a shame about the beard."
