This one never fails to send shivers
Great emotional songwriting and a progressive arrangement to boot

That Chico album is a classic, for sure....it's on my iPod, gonna hit it now! Thanks!
A melancholy but beautiful tune by Jobim. I like this version from Lee Ritenour's debut better than the one on Jobim's "Stone Flower" album (though I do like that album).
I know its Spanish, Feliu I Joan Albert, but... check it out !

Greetings,
I'm a big fan of a lot of Brazilian music and look forward to checking out all the links posted here when time permits. In the interim, I'll also share a few favorites that come to mind:
Raiz de Pedra (from their live album)
teaser from the latest Itiberê Zwarg & Grupo CD
Itiberê Orquestra Família
Cheers,
Alan
Hi again,
And two more (that I had to list separately due to system constraints here):
Mente Clara
Armazém (Abaporu)
Cheers,
Alan

Pura Vida!.
There are two kinds of music. Good music, and the other kind. ∞
Duke Ellington.
Nice submissions, Alan! Never heard of any of 'em, but they were all cool! A bit more on the jazzy and progressive side of Brasilian music... and all seem to have some Hermeto Pascoal influence.
Some neat sounding instruments... and music!
Thanks, folks! Keep them coming!
Armazem are particularly awesome. I've only got one of their albums, but I listen to it frequently.
"Improvisation is not an excuse for musical laziness" - Fred Frith
"[...] things that we never dreamed of doing in Crimson or in any band that I've been in," - Tony Levin speaking of SGM
Itibere Zwarg's band is awesome...I need to get me some of that.
See my post on the Hermeto thread, folks.....
