Year by Year: The Best Albums from 1969 and Beyond

For six years now I have been writing a series in Finnish on my favourite albums from 1969 to the present day. It's not just a series of lists, but a careful presentation of all my favourites. The series is called Vuosi vuodelta in Finnish and now I have started to translate it into English as Year by Year.

The first one (actually 2023 came out as a test run at the end of last year...) in the series is 1969. It includes King Crimson (surprise!), Soft Machine, Miles Davis and many others.

And hopefully this is a two-way street; so I'd love to hear what your favourites are from 1969?

I shall enjoy browsing that. And resist the temptation to produce my own list!

I'd have included Tull's Stand Up. I like that better than most of the album you list.

Ah, but I can't help wondering how many of those albums you were aware of in 1969, vs. having discovered them much later. That, of course, assumes that you were alive in 1969.
What we feel we have to solve is why the dregs have not dissolved.

I go, and come back, forever, evermore.
Part of me remains abandoned in a circle.
    Part of me moves on.
