Is vinyl pressed from a digital source defeating the purpose?

I had a guy up here one time to buy some speakers from me who said he had a 100K digital system and left shaking his head. He told me I had the sound he was trying to get from his system for years and honestly couldn't touch it. I'm into my set up under $3K... good used and properly restored analog gear.. tube amps etc.

I'm interested in what your components are in this system (not to question it, but because I too would like a high performing setup at a price around that budget ).
