    Tritonus and next Trilogy

Having picked up the whole catalogue of Tritonus and really enjoyed , I ‘ ve now found Trilogy , another German keyboard trio , I ‘ ve managed to pick up both albums on vinyl , due to arrive soon . Has anyone heard both albums ? The first one sounds quite ELP derivative , and really good , the second is 1984 and I only found one track online but it sounded good . It occurred to me that the following are all keyboard trios

    Trace
    Triumvirat
    Triade
    Tritonus
    Trilogy

I think ELP were going to call themselves Triton at one point!

I think I've heard a little bit of Trace but out of those I really only know Triumvirat and of course ELP. There was also a band called Manticore but I don't if they were a trio. Earthrise from the US were a trio and so were Ars Nova from Japan.

An ELP-influenced Japanese trio took that name in the 1990s, though I think they only ever released only a CD single, before keyboardist Mika Nakajima joined Ars Nova.

I've only heard Here It Is, which I think is... not particularly memorable but decent. For its credit, it isn't totally derivative of ELP, it's also derivative of Genesis and the Camel-influenced melancholy symphonic rock of other German bands in the late-70s.

It's almost as if the Tri- prefix indicates the presence of the overdriven Hammond organ in some form!
One Dracula, two Dracula, three Dracula...
