    What's new in retro-prog?

It's been almost a year since I did the last thread on this, and I'm wondering if the genre is still going strong. Remember, what we are talking about is current bands using vintage equipment and writing playing music that sounds like it's from aprroximately 1970-73 - NOT merely bands "which were influenced by Genesis/Yes/ELP etc etc". Doesn't matter what country, although the majority of it seems to have originated from England, Italy, and Sweden.

Richard, Tom, Spyros and a few others, you were extremely helpful in the past, and I'm very interested to know what's come out in the last year or so.

So new groups, or new releases from established bands like Diagonal, DeWolff, Areknames, Wicked Minds, etc, bring it on. Reunion albums from 70s bands are welcome too.

This thread should be named as 'what's new in retro-sounding prog'.

This one is fairly recent (and from Italy, as almost always):

"Improvisation is not an excuse for musical laziness" - Fred Frith
"[...] things that we never dreamed of doing in Crimson or in any band that I've been in," - Tony Levin speaking of SGM

Sure shot for album of the year. Writing, singing, playing, engineering, production all first rate.

    I am truly blown away.

Some really nice clips in this thread. I've got all of the Crystal Thoughts albums, and they're wonderful, but I suspect more Psychedelic than Jim is looking for, though there are certainly Prog elements.

I really liked the Jess and the Ancient Ones, (sounds like it could have been on Rise Above,) and also the Psycho Praxis, the Tusmorke (who I'd already heard,) and to a lesser extent, the Marran and Crowned In Earth.
Trying to decide whether to pick up the J&tAO and PP on vinyl or CD.

I leave the tab open for a long while to watch the clips, and Spyros strikes again.

I bought the CAdP, but it isn't here yet. The Dodson & Fogg looks right up my alley. I will have to seek it out.
