    RIP Russ Francis

Ravens looked pretty good yesterday. Would like to see them with a healthy team on the field. Ravens are 3-1, would be 4-0 if not for Angel Hernandez officiating in overtime. They have played against two rookie quarterbacks.

I'd be worried if im a Chiefs fan. If Aaron Rogers plays last night the Jets win easily; that defense is for real.

^ Despite their current records, both the Chiefs and Eagles seem to have a bit of "Super Bowl hangover."

The Eagles are still not clicking on both sides of the ball. Two new coordinators seem to be having an effect.

Man, that Denver trade plus the subsequent draft picks have all resulted in scores tonight for Seattle.

I'll take the win tonight but with a grain of salt; that Giants offense is trash. If the Giants HC finishes the season I'll be surprised.

The giants real problem is lack of talent. Give the best coach in the history of the NFL (whoever that is for you) and they would not be able to get that collection of third stringers to sniff .500.

To me + it clearly showed that Saquon is the Giants actual best player - the O is 100% useless w/o him; at least the O is competent when he's there usually

    Re: GMen lack of talent
This goes back to selecting Saquon at all! It was never that Saquon was not worthy of that spot on the draft board - it's that the GMen had way more (and truthfully the same) problems than what Saquon could solve.

Trading down then would have bagged (likely IMO) at least one lineman who by now would be a steadying force. Instead the Giants have wasted Saquons career to their and his detriment.

Nice result for the Seahawks, D was dominant, O didn't look so good. 3 for 12 on 3rd downs, typical of Pete Carroll caution on 1st & 2nd down. We need to be much much better than that. Overall encouraging.

Who should the giants have picked at that top of that draft instead of Saquon? They've had many drafts since then to pick good players and haven't really done that. I get that building around a running back in today's NFL isn't the best strategy, but I don't see the giants having a huge pool of talent if they just didn't pick SB like 5 years ago.

The GMen should have traded down from there IMO. The Colts had three 1st rounders in that draft - two O line and a LB (two of which are pro bowlers) were selected using those.

Given Colts QB sitch at the time - and given Darnolds 'stock value' at the time - I just think more could have been not to move out of that #2, let Colts snatch (save) Jets from Darnold and pick up quality O line or two down draft.

But it's done - all theory anyway

Hate to be "conspiracy guy" but:

Meanwhile Travis Kelce's jersey sales spike over 400% since Swiftus arrival in the sky box. Wouldn't be good business to have Swiftus new future ex to lose in prime time.

I"m not sure I'd use the colts as an example of doing well in the past five years. :P

But yes. I suppose they could have traded down slightly or just took Nelson at guard. But I still think the GM (whoever it is then and now) needs to be better. The giants have two pieces (Barkley and Lawerence) that are blue chippers and maybe three more (Williams, Gano, and Thomas, although I still doubt his ability) that could be starters elsewhere. Maybe Thibodaux can grow into it...but that's about it. I'll round up to 6...6...and two of those play the same position and one is a kicker.

But you're right...what's done is done. Giants have a long way to go that's for sure.

Yeah Colts have issues especially in the owners box + but those two blue chip O linemen are still there, pro bowl veterans who can now block for Richardson (and made the holes for Taylor previously). But they made the playoffs twice in that time to the GMen only single visit.
