You can ignore me, but I won't go away. Here's some advice(this is for Trane, too):don't say anything if you can't say something nice. I was asking for someone else's opinion, and Trane butted in(like he always does). What's worse is that he's always so negative. Doesn't he ever have anything positive to say? Maybe I should just ignore the both of you. Btw, we were never friends.
loved Heart in the 70's.... when they were a band and not 'The Wilson Sisters'
Naaaah, he's not even worth the trouble to use the Iggy function...
If he becomes a bother, I'll squat him away like a pesky mosquito that he can become... more and more recently, apparently...
maybe it's his GF that poops in his cereal bowl every morning of late
Duuuude, go make peace with your GF and get laid again.... It'll do yourself some good (and by a side effect, us as well)
I'm plenty positive on good music... and I'm plenty negative on bad music....
just like in this thread: I'm positive on 70's Heart album, ... and on 00's albums as well
And yes, I poop on 80's Heart AOR albums... just like the majority on this board does...
If you want just one advice from one specific person, PM him, then....
This is public forum and I chime in when I want... like everyone does...
PS: at the very least, if you don't get laid, jack yourself off once or twice.. it'll release a lot of nastiness built up in you of late...
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
Well, I don't want to derail the thread. At some point the discussion will go back to Heart. But I really do recommend using the Iggy function. Sometimes you can't reason with some people. I don't hate anyone and I'm aware that everyone has their opinions and it's possible that some members will irritate you. I just have to resist the temptation to reply to the guy everytime he does his usual nit-picking.Naaaah, he's not even worth the trouble to use the Iggy function...
Now, this is one of the flaws of the ignore function, but it's still better to have it than not have it at all. JIF, I'll resist replying to you from this point forward (as I have for the last week or so). You seem like a nice guy, and you are very knowledgable about the music you love, and that's all well and good. One day you'll learn that on an open forum like this people have opinions that don't agree with how you see things, and you don't need to always be so predictable. People who are so pedantic about details are socially awkward.Originally Posted by JIF

Apologies to the mods if I step in a pile and derailed the thread. I need to take my own advice and stop commenting about the guy I have on ignore. I've done this a few times on other threads and it's wrong. There.
About Heart: I almost bought a compilation album once. I like some of their classic radio hits (i.e. Barracuda) but for whatever reason I just can't pull the trigger.

Stop putting words into my mouth. I didn't say that. I said that I check out threads first, then leave. I'll come back if the thread interests me. One thread example would be Squid Stories. I wasn't interested at first, but I started to check those out when I know more about Dave and what he does. I don't mind what opinions people express, but I have to jump in when I see certain people being jerks. Sorry to step on the toes of the mods, but I don't like people being mean to other people. That's why I am defensive of certain people: don't know if they're being jerks or not.
Jordan - honestly, did it ever occur to you that many people perceive from your posts that you're a jerk? Well, sorry, but it seems others rather than me seem to think so.
I understand that you are very sensitive because of the way many others have been derisive of you in your life, but subtle humor, sarcasm and bantering back & forth with different opinions doesn't make someone a jerk.
You can't expect anyone to react favorably when they post an opinion and you post, "Why don't you like (whomever)?", "Have you ever listened to (whatever) before saying that?" and other similar questions. Everything is grey, neither black nor white, and that's hard for some people to accept.
Please accept this post for what it is. While I personally don't have a beef with you, I understand completely what is frustrating to Trane & Plas. Just try to reel in your sensitivity antennae a bit.

JIF - I didn't mean to put words in your mouth. I was just making an observation...possibly a very wrong one. But it seems like you have developed certain ideas about various bands (whether correct or incorrect I wouldn't necessarily know depending on the band) and you seem to "pounce" on anyone with ideas differing from yours...and not always in the most tactful way. Listen to Progeezer. He seems like a good guy who wouldn't steer you wrong.
No, you don't. This is the problem.
Then, don't. It's their job to take care of "the jerks," not yours.
Get OVER it already. Again, rise above it and take the high road.
So, here's what you do: if you're not sure, assume that they're NOT being jerks, and ignore it.
Look, man, I try to give you room, and not get involved in your little squabbles here, but it seems like you can't post in a thread anymore without calling someone out. It gets old after a while, y'know? Just ignore it. If you find that specific people get under your skin, use the ignore feature.
But this constant "mini-mod" stuff is really, really annoying, and you're putting a lot of people off.

How come when I tell people off, you call me "mini-mod", but when you and Proggeezer do it, it's okay? I've seen you tell a few people off, like the guy that seems to hate Phil Collins way beyond the "Phil Collins ruined Genesis" by turning them into a pop band. I apologize. Can we just move on to Heart?
Dude, no-one wants to get in a real argument with you (not even me)... but loosen up , puhleaeaease!!! (and get laid, it helps )... your aggressive behaviour towards my post about the 80's Heart is only reinforcing some of the negative opinions stacked up against you...
If it can help you not get yourself all worked up on PE, put me on Iggy, I won't mind.
I know I can irritate some with my relative anti-80's opinions (not just over pop, and neo, or OR or hair-metal, but I'm not systematically negative with all the 80's stuff either), but people allow me to express my opinion, just like I let them express theirs when I disagree with them...
let's all calm down here, and let's get back to Heart... How about that Nancy chick??? Still looking soo cuddly...
She wouldn't have to say "yes" to me twice... Once is enough

I must've missed that one!! I'll check it out ASAP
apparently she did more than one movie too!!
never knew that... and I'd totally forgotten she was il Almost Famous as well...

I think the ignore is the most valuable function of PE3

Nancy is fine and all but I will always be in love with Ann even if she weighs as much as New England. (Don't tell my wife.)
This could be a whole thread on its own. Not to drag another person into this but JIF kinda reminds me of Thomas from a few years back. That need to carry the "rod of correction" in every thread and bop people on the nose every time someone says something he disagreed with. But anyway, the things you'll always find on every single forum, on every single topic imaginable is the pedants who feel they need to set people straight on everything from punctuation, to historical errors. They just have a need to correct, as if they're doing you and everyone else a favor. In all the years I've posted on message boards there is at least one pedantic type, an "alpha-male" type, an "alpha-female" type, a class clown, etc., etc. It's a volatile mix and it's mostly a lot of fun. You just gotta have a sense of humor or you won't survive. And being sincere and apologizing once in a while doesn't hurt either. You can't expect anyone to react favorably when they post an opinion and you post, "Why don't you like (whomever)?", "Have you ever listened to (whatever) before saying that?" and other similar questions. Great post, Vic.
