Nice NY Times shout-out to Cuneiform Recording Artist Luke Stewart

    https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/01/a...azz-music.html

I really enjoy his Silt Trio album. We've heard a lot of "math rock". To my ears this is "math jazz".

I clicked several of the sound samples in the article. A lot of good stuff to investigate!

Thanks for this; I hadn’t seen it.

Luke is ubiquitous on the DC new music scene; our working together was inevitable and wonderful.

I have his "Exposure Quintet" album from 2020. Love it. Really nice sound too, very natural and present. Also have the Luke Stewart and Jarvis Earnshaw Quartet recording from 2021.

There was a few things on that list that prompted further exploration including Luke Stewart.

That's very cool! My wife and I are subscribers to the corrupt and failing New York Times.

^^^ lol... Me too. One mind-blowing thing in that article is that they actually got Sonny Rollins to contribute. I would have never guessed he was still with us. Just checked wiki: 92 years old.

I saw Sonny play in Washington Square Park way back when and he wasn't a spring chicken either.
