Gleb Kolyadin (part of Iamthemorning) has a new album out called The Outland.

Although this is not my preferred style of prog I still think it is extremely well done. The tunes are all good, production excellent and the playing fantastic. I also heared his debut solo album and I think the new one is much better. The core band consists of Gleb himself, Canadian guitarplayer Vlad Avy and English drummer Gavin Harrison. Tony Levin appears on bass on one of the tunes. There are a bunch of other musicians too.
The main instrument on the record is piano and Gleb is a virtuoso player, however I never get the feeling he is showing off. The playing is all in service of the tunes instead of his ego.
The record release almost went by unnoticed. This is not really a great surprise as Gleb himself explained on an instagram post:
Some of you probably know that last month my solo album was released, and this album has been on my mind since 2020.
Alas, because of all the shit that Russia has done this year, my label decided to make the release as quiet and inconspicuous as possible. I mean the delayed (no clear date) release on streaming, the absence of any announcements, advertising, publications and everything else that usually accompanies the release of any musical work. All this is despite the fact that the main musicians involved in the recording are from the UK, Canada and US.
But business is business, and music is music. Now I feel like a character from my own album cover (although instead of the sea there are only Kazakhstan mountains) and I have a request for you all... and it’s not a request to buy the album (because it already has been on torrents for a long time), but to support it with a word, repost and other available methods. If you can write a small review, I will be happy to send you a download code for Bandcamp. If you liked the music, at least one track - please spread the word. I mentally let go of this album last winter, but due to respect for all the musicians and my friends who participated in the recording, please speed up this little ship!
This is the most important thing that can happen to this music because I believe it deserves it.
You can find the Bandcamp link in the first comment under this post.
By the way, about the music. I keep a daily diary on my Patreon channel (link is in the first comment too). Now there are already about 70 tracks and you can join the channel, thereby supporting my work.
In any case, I'm so grateful to everyone who reads this and who listens to my music (and Iamthemorning, of course) all this time. Your support is extremely helpful and inspiring to keep doing new things!
Have a nice day everyone.
