Music isn't about chops, or even about talent - it's about sound and the way that sound communicates to people. Mike Keneally
RIP.
She seemed like a good person.

Sorry to read it. I still enjoy her "A Little More Love"/"Magic" era when I come across those songs.
Woah. This is unexpected. RIP.

LOVE this song:
A beautiful voice singing songs I did not care for.
My sympathies to her family and friends.
Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.
That was where my crush on her began, and I was only a kid seeing it on TV. I loved that bizarre, almost cult movie with its hybrid of styles and Olivia just dazzling and impossibly beautiful. My sister had the 45 rpm single of Magic and we played it over and over. I didn't get to see her on the big screen until Two Of A Kind (not a great film, but I rented it again when it came out anyway!) and then it was my turn to buy a single (Twist Of Fate).
R.I.P. to Olivia Newton-John and another little piece of my childhood.

She was in one of the only 2-3 musicals that I ever paid/pay attention to: Grease [the movie]
And sang the closing song.
I hope she died peacefully. 72 is very young.
What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound (2112)
RIP.
My wife always had an uncanny ability to find Grease on TV and I imagine that this week it will be everywhere.
RIP Sandee
I used to always look for her album covers at the record store.
Linda Ronstadt, too.

Heard about this earlier today and it caught me by surprise. Rest in peace to a beautiful, talented and good-hearted lady.

RIP to a good person who did a lot in the last couple decades to raise funds and awareness for cancer.
I could not MEH hard enough in regards to her music but hey, she brought a lot of joy to people who like insipid pop. I'd rather hit my balls with a ball peen hammer than watch Grease. In regards to the album covers, she was fine but Ronstadt was in a class by herself.
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
I remember seeing her first appearance , very very early in her career on The Merv Griffen show. She had my full pubescent attention. Positively radiant.
Grease is probably the first (or one of the first) "chick flicks" so I can understand guys on here not liking it.

One of my husbands favorite films was Xanadu...

Rest in peace Olivia, an icon of my youth, one of my first crushes too. I pass on her music and Grease though.
