I've only gotten two 2022 releases so far.
Soft Fogg - Soft Fogg. Good rocking fusion. Too short, needed another track or two to round it out, and I'd like a bit more dynamics, but not a terrible debut.
Yang - Designed for Disaster. Love this band. Can't say I've totally bonded with this one yet, but this is a good reminder to give it a fresh spin.
I just ordered Birth, the new TEE, and the new Bubblemath, so things seem to be picking up a bit.

The Tangent
I also quite like the new Flower Kings album but I still need to give it more listens.
Do you really enjoy Spinoza (John Zorn) as much as the Cleansing, the album he did with Bill Laswell? Zorn is both a prolific composer and someone who likes to move in and out of genres. Spinoza is the kind of Zorn composition I really want to get into but in reality I struggle with. My favorite Zorn releases from the last decade plus are the trio recordings with Bill Frissell.
^It would take two days, 48 hours, to listen to the massive list. How do you find time to listen repeatedly with a list this long?
What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound (2112)

^ Ian likes the PT? That’s the NEWS of 2022 so far! Surprising, but I like it too.

I personally think it's the best thing I've heard from him since Six Litanies For Heliogabalus (with the Moonchild Trio) some 15 years back, and that was obviously a very different thing altogether. Spinoza really shows Zorn the seminal and integral band member/performer as much as the composer/conductor/visionary behind display, and although his quest and mission still reeks of extremity for reasons left untold the story somehow keeps unfolding in line. He's probably no longer the ever so provocatively unpredictable troublemaker of fierce aesthetics, but all the better for it as you can relate more intimately and directly to his sheer musicality and tone.

I certainly would've missed TD in Brussels, because I'm not looking for it.
Expecting your call next time.
Join The Din is definitely getting my attention, but still having problems getting into Black Midi
