Yesterday and today I played the first and the second disc of Timewind.

Cool picks. Did X and Moondawn yesterday, switching things up and revisiting Silhouettes later.

Tomorrow it will be Moondawn and then I reach the end of my collection. Probably Sihouettes will be added soon. Basicly because it's the cheapest.

How did you like the second (bonus) disk? I upgraded to that edition at some point and was looking at the bonus disk the other night. Pretty cool that there's a bonus disk as long as the main disk! But that was Klaus, always filling every disk to the maximum! There are some of those Inside Out reissues with substantial bonus material that I haven't upgraded to, and I really should have because that's a significant amount of Klaus that I'm missing!

I like both disks. My version is from MIG. My version of Moondawn is also from MIG.

NP - the incredible 51’ ‘Sense’ from 1976, with Harald, and released in full for the first time on the CD of Live. Phew. Phasers on stunning…..

^^ Great pick. KS is one of those artists where many of his unreleased outtakes can stand shoulder to shoulder with the "official" releases. IMHO.

Was running through X earlier but now that you mention it...going to line up Nostalgic Echo from 1976 (was originally on the Silver Edition, not sure which of the LVE releases it appeared on). No Harald on this one, but it's still pretty excellent classic KS material.

Agreed! This one is simply smashing. Actually I often reach for Picture Music from the shelf these days. This one and Blackdance.

I actually worked on the liner notes for all of those KS re-issues (Revisited Records was a subsidiary of InsideOut at the time through SPV) and although I was familiar with a handful of his albums, that project gave me a much greater appreciation of his music. Such as vast discography. I feel fortunate to have had some small involvement in his catalogue.

Finally got around to Silhouettes last night. It's.....fine. For lack of a better description, it's KS in demo mode to my ears: he pulled up a preset or similar patch on one of his keyboards and started playing "those" chords.

Klaus said that he did it for the fans when he made the album In Blue. His old friend Manuel Göttsching, who played with him at the Ash Ra Tempel, played guitar on a track called Return of the Tempel:

I definitely like In Blue, was listening to it for a while yesterday in fact. But I think what came shortly afterwards was even better: Are You Sequenced? and Tradition and Vision. Both of those albums were pretty amazing IMHO.

Funny note for those who care: the bonus track on Are You Sequenced is "Vat Was Dat?" which actually was referenced in the liner notes of the Jubilee Edition as the third part of his Trance Opera Sans Lyrics. And kdm called out Vat Was Dat as the part he wouldn't release because it was so monotonous and repetitive, saying "you would think I was insane (to release it)." Fast forward a few years to the SPV reissues and....yes kdm, you ARE insane But all the cheers for you nonetheless.

Cool, and very interesting. Did you happen to meet or speak to KDM (Klaus D. Mueller) while doing that? Or to Klaus Schulze himself?

One more that I haven't mentioned recently, but probably should...that last Ash Ra Tempel "reunion" of Schulze/Göttsching.

Is it even remotely similar to the original ART? Not at all...it's basically a late era Schulze album with Göttsching on guest guitar.

Is it a damn good late era Schulze album with Göttsching on guest guitar? Damn skippy it is, at least to these ears.
