Looks like the release date has been pushed back to July 15.

Ah well. In the meanwhile I'm enjoying the Everything Is Silent set.

No one seems to have told any of the online retailers as I am typing this.....is the postponement for definite?

    Well, we'll find out shortly.

Amazon now shows it as 7/15.

Both Amazon and ImportCD are showing July 15 as the date - but they are known to get it wrong sometimes.

My amazon account is showing it as being despatched but closer investigation suggests that all that has been scheduled is a delivery appointment with the courier.....

Check this out...it may answer the "delay" question:

Amazon.co.uk - This title will be released on May 27, 2022.
Amazon.com (US) - This title will be released on July 15, 2022.

    Both on Chrysalis (UK label)

Not unusual for the import site to be released before the US site.

Well it's a bit more time to save up the cash I suppose. Worth waiting for.

Wayside has it in stock, only slightly higher than the Amazon price.

Got it today, that is already yesterday (Thursday). Mostly got it for the Rocket Cottage on CD and the new live concerts there. There is a nice, thick booklet and some bonus tracks as well, so overall well worth it. Hope you all get it soon.

According to Discogs, they're CDs. Since Park didn't release this, I'm inclined to believe that that's correct.

Now to figure out if I want to buy the box for 2 CDs...

Of course they are CDs, released by Chrysalis. Each CD in in a separate single sleeve and housed in a box. It comes with a quite thick booklet with many photos and descriptions of how each album came about. Only quickly scanned it so there could be more to it. Personally I think it is a steal at this price and for this many CDs. Other than the recent compilation, I do not think Rocket Cottage was ever released separately on a CD, so I had to grab it.

Rocket Cottage is a great album - bought it when it came out but then rashly got rid of it when I was into punk and new wave. I put that right some years later. Have it on the 2nd 'parcel' box set too. To me they were never the same again thereafter - despite doing excellent albums.

I have Rocket Cottage on CD. My problem was finding Sails Of Silver on CD. Had to wait years to find one. (early 2000's)

I was hoping these were CD's. Last few Park releases were CDR's.

Good for you. As I could not find Rock Cottage on CD went ahead and bought it on vinyl (used and quite cheap) with the idea of eventually transferring it to CD-R. Never got to it though so the box solved this problem. There is a bonus track there too, alternate take of Drunkard.

Box arrived West Coast USA yesterday 7/18. Nice Budget-type box. Well made. Original album covers. Nice booklet. The 47 previous unreleased tracks are inter-dispersed within the albums....so will replace my current iTune entries with these new ones. CD's 11 & 12 are new to me. What a great way to get The Span out to the masses without breaking the bank.

    Mine just arrived. Hooray!

I know what I will be listening to for the next week or two...

The first thing I notice is that there are two sets of bonus tracks, not all marked as such.

For example, on Below the Salt, the last song on the LP is "Saucy Sailor".

On this release, this if ollowed by "Gaudete (Single Version)" and "The Holly And The Ivy" -- NOT marked as bonus tracks.

Then, marked as Bonus Tracks:, are "Gaudete (Take 1)" and "Singing The Travels".

I presume the first two were added as bonus tracks to a previous CD release.

However, this does mean that there are three versions of "Gaudete" on this disc. I love that song, it's the first Steeleye I ever heard, but that seems just a bit OTT.

These previously unreleased tracks are of their time and used to flesh out the 40 minute albums to close to an hour/ disc.
