The Cuneiform plinth, or whatever that thing is, and also the little three-triangles thingy (probably a cuneiform). Ok, that's a logo, Steve is the mascot!

Haven't seen a mention of the Jester in the Fish-era Marillion.
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

    Fourth post in the thread.

Appropriate, since their fourth album is the last time he was seen.
Music isn't about chops, or even about talent - it's about sound and the way that sound communicates to people. Mike Keneally

You just can't beat what Maiden has done. Every album, every single, every patch that doesn't just have Iron Maiden in their script, has Eddie. He's always there. He's now a Japanese warrior and before that he was a Incan warrior, IIRC. He's had his brain removed, he was a Egyptian Pharaoh, gone through time, been a creepy Wizard Of Oz tree and much more.

But, he's been there since the beginning, forty two years, dammit. Ed Force One, Flight 666, with all the decals and such. It really is amazing that they have been able to do this for so long. No one has ever done that, stuck to their guns and said this is how we do it and you record execs, bugger off. As far as mascots go but I do wonder if the record companies ever really cared as they sold so many albums they might have just let them do their thing.

Well, I guess I'm wrong about all this.

The Essential Iron Maiden is the fourth greatest hits compilation by the British heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released on 12 July 2005. Released exclusively in North America, it is part of Sony Music Entertainment's The Essential series. Contrary to other releases from this series, the track listing is presented in reverse-chronological order (i.e., the latest studio-recorded songs appear first).

It is the second album by the band that does not feature Eddie on its cover, the first being the first edition of Live at Donington.
Damned semantics. Does a live album count? Does a greatest hits album count? Does this ruin their record?

Bloody hell, why am I spending so much time analyzing Iron Maiden?
