My assessment is he had two options, stay in the US, continue as an activist (in the NFL's face) and have his agent robo-dial NFL owners, or move to Canada, hook-up with a team there, continue as an activist but away from the NFL's purview, and in 3 to 4 years of killing it in the CFL, gently remind a few owners of his success.

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Kyle Fuller is out for the season after an MRI revealed Monday that he tore his left ACL.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh called the injury "a crazy circumstance on AstroTurf." Fuller, a two-time Pro Bowl cornerback, was hurt covering Elijah Moore with 1:18 left in Baltimore's 24-9 win over the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
"He got pushed off and just landed the wrong way," Harbaugh said. "And the turf doesn't usually give as much as grass. So that's what happened."
They also lost a starting tackle for the season.

Holy shit. I left the pub and we had 14 points. I arrive at the next pub.....35-35. Good things happen when I don't watch the game. I think we'll lose but the Dolphins offense was impressive.
