^^ What I meant is that, with 7 playoff teams, they only need to have the 7th best record to have their shot at the Super Bowl. That is likely to mean a 10-7 finish would be a shoo in.

Definitely double digit wins gives a team >90% playoff chance - especially given two years ago Bears got in @ 8-8 and last year's Steelers at 9-7-1.
However two years ago - 10 wins did not get you into AFC playoffs....

Yeah, my comment lacked context, sorry. There's a fairly large, vocal segment of the Cleveland Browns fanbase that is in love with Baker Mayfield, and thinks we achieved the team's objective by making the playoffs the year before last. It irritates the hell out of me.
Having said that, I don't think that every team that makes the playoffs has a legit chance to win the Super Bowl. However, Cincinnati was not supposed to be one of the teams with a real shot, and they almost pulled it off, so I guess I can't really say for certain.
Indianapolis just traded Carson Wentz to Washington![]()

I think teams will only speak of two goals (most of the time), making the playoffs and being in the Super Bowl. I think the former is usually for teams struggling to get a winning record and the other is for any team at .500.
I am equally irritated by the delusions of grandeur the Cowboys (and the media) have about their goals. Except for when they have had god awful seasons, it's always "Super Bowl or bust" mentality. And how is that turning out? It's worse, in my book, to oversell expectations only to constantly underachieve, then to set realistic expectations.
But I get your frustration. I think the recent NFL has shown that you can't win a SB without an elite QB. Mayfield has had more than his chance, and it's coming time they make a change.

Carson came and Carson Wentz. That was pretty quick. One year.

Wilson never got over Pete Carroll's decision to cut off the gas to Wilson's "Let Russ Cook!" campaign year before last. And for a guy who made his mark in the NFL being a threat to run Wilson has pretty much completely removed that from his tool kit. Next season should be interesting.
Brady winning a SB in TB sure opened a Pandora's box. Now that Stafford has won one in LA just one season after escaping Detroit I'm sure we'll see a lot of QB movements in the years to come since every team will believe they're just a QB away from glory. I wonder if that puts additional pressure on Wilson in Denver where obviously he and the team both expect to play in February.
So the idea is that Daniel Jones won't fumble as much if he's looking over his shoulder?
Whatever the motivation, the Giants needed to address their backup QB situation. I was hoping that they could do this by making Daniel Jones their backup, but I'm happy enough for another tank year and a high 1st round 2023 pick to help set up the future.
seeing a couple of posts of daBears sending Mack to Bolts for some picks

Deshaun Watson will not face criminal charges. Still subject to league conduct policy. I'd love to see the Browns go after him, but the Texans will be asking for the moon.
