Sometimes I google for info on a musical topic, and end up in PE, and it's not entirely unusual that I land on something I already posted about.
Why did I come in here?

Ha, not only had that feature gone unnoticed by me for years, the corresponding functionality exists at the stevehoffman forums and I never noticed there, either.

Both at work and at home, I enter via my settings page next to the Log Out in the top right corner

Gives all the threads I've participated in. I check them out and add my 0.02 w<hen I feel like it.

Sometimes (about once or twice a week, which means I often come late in the debate - like here, for ex) I check new posts or go the forum menu to check out the main forum, the Off Topic and once in a while, the Way-Off.

the easiest (IMHO) is to hit the Settings feature. Subscribed will give the same results, though.

surprised anyone is still using those groups actually - haven't checked things out in years in there

The three I was participating +/- died in 2015 - I figured other didn't last much longer.

    Mine goes like this -

New Posts - Hit this first to see latest on anything I'm active in.
Subscribed - Second step allows me to see posts in threads I am following but may have missed in New Posts

The only other thing I do is Search. Sometimes I forget a thread name or I want to search for a topic to read or post.

    What's your method?
barely anymore. when i do, it depends on what is of interest-sometime new posts. sometimes to look for answers. i rarely expect answers anymore. I spend more times in oddities auctions anymore.

You got a big laugh out of me today :-) But coincidentally, yesterday Apple announced the demise of the iPod. Wow, it was the first "i" device that hit the market when Steve Jobs made the announcement. How things have changed since then, now it's a world of streaming and downloading, even CDs are almost dead but vinyl is back (not to my amusement).

First I click "New posts", then the "Mark any thread not about King Crimson read" button which reduces the clutter by at least 30%

Well, his business yes......but his business is likely disturbing.

Anyway, I go to subscribed threads first, checking first unread, then to new posts. I sometimes use the Mark All function, but not always. And I usually am sitting down. Though I sometimes use Tapatalk, esp. if I am looking for responses to my own witticisms.

That button is a MUST-USE on any forum. They all have that functionality one way or another.

The only problem with years old threads is that I probably don't now what they are about, though that can be solved by looking at te first post and what I have added before.
