Joureny of One Video updated and audio remix

I hope folks don't mind my reposting this.
Several weeks ago, various email discussions with Marvin & Bruce, both who were involved in the original project, led to my revisiting the original mix and video.
The video needed some work(it was my first video and using free software), some images have been replaced to be more time period appropriate..
Bruce felt his toms were too loud and we all felt the vocals needed to be louder, plus the lyrics on the images were hard to read.

I am really proud of this song, and I love how it tells the story of pioneers heading west to begin a new life.
A lot of the images are from the Oregon Trail, and some from other sources.

If you missed this the first time, I hope you enjoy it, it's 6 minutes long, so bring a drink and lunch. lol
If you're interested in seeing the updated version, than call Uber for a snack.

    Thanks for watching.

    Hi Richard!

It (still) sounds really good. Very nice Trick-era Genesis vibe especially in the drums. Me being me, I also rather enjoy the more ambient soundscape-y outtro. And the video is lovely and appropriate (I'd not realized it was hard to read before, but I could certain read fine this time).

Thanks as ever for sharing! Keep the good stuff coming, sir
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

Also, Ephemeral Sun: it's a thing and we like making things that might be your thing: https://ephemeralsun.bandcamp.com

Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Your continued support and encouragement is greatly appreciated.
One of the sad things is, Marv has developed COPD and has difficulty doing vocals anymore, so it's quite possible this is most likely his last vocals recording.
I like to remind him he still has the talent of writing terrific lyrics and music.

Oh that's tough, I'm sorry to hear about his COPD. Glad that you're still encouraging him to express in other ways though

    Thanks John.

We've been friends and collaborating since the early 70's(except for some breaks in between... 30years lol).
It's a bit difficult to face things are winding down, but ya just keep doing what you love, and when you can't do what you used to, you find a way to continue creating.

Really love it! Great job! I agree with Battema on the Genesis vibe. That sounds like you on the vocals, though?

Hi Joe, thanks for listening, and I'm really happy you like it.
Actually, I only did vocals in the intro "animals and men" segment, "parched and hungry" section, and the vocal outro "soon, we'll find ourselves".
    The rest was all Marv.

The layering of synths is very impressive; lots of keyboard pieces that interweave and build in very nice ways. The synth sounds and the way they're layered reminds me of some of the later Camel albums, esp. Dust and Dreams. As I listened to it I was thinking "hm the drum track really captures that sense of the determined, slow relentless passage of a wagon train or something" and right as I thought that out came the line "myriads of creatures in an undulating throng march in time to one another's stride" which felt like it summed up my exact thoughts. Very nice match of lyrical subject and arrangement, with some excellently descriptive lyrics.

Wow! thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and reaction while listening to Journey.
I really agree with you on Bruce's drum track capturing the soul of the journey and movement.
Part of why I remixed it was to restore Bruce's drum track to the original tracks he sent me. Foolishly, I edited the cymbal part in the first quarter to more of a weird timing, because at the time I felt the constant cymbal reminded me of a click.
As time went by, I missed his original concept, and I always felt terrible I had altered his creativity. Now I get it, and love it and it's instrumental in emoting the feeling you spoke of.

I'm rarely at a loss for words, but when the basic track was finished, I had nothing lyrically.
Thankfully Marv was inspired and many of these great lyrics helped elevate the song to a different level.

Thank you again for listening and sharing your experience.
It really means a lot to me to hear how someone else felt while listening.
