Neal Morse: Personally, though I like the last few Spock's Beard album's quite a bit, the first few after Neal's departure, were uneven. The band has definitely recovered, but for me personally, they have never really fully recaptured some of the magic from the best of the Neal years. No slight on them as the Neal era was part of a 90s prog resurgence that was pretty exciting and though still a good band, that time and output in the bands history is proving to be a hard act to follow.

Sammy Hagar when he joined VH. He regained the quality when he left.
Compact Disk brought high fidelity to the masses and audiophiles will never forgive it for that

while AMLoR is not an all time classic, it is light years better than The Final Crap by Waters.
I'll grant you one thing though; The Division Bell, as good as it is, is not as good as DSoTM or WYWH
BUT those two albums were created by 4 musicians working TOGETHER unlike The Final Crap
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

I thought Carson sounded great (although the current vocalist - I forget his name - is also great. I think he and Carson are/were the best they have/had). I have no idea what Keith More is up to now, but his one solo album is excellent.

Though the band is still great, it's different.

I also have a mate with me who agrees PF dropped qualities when Waters left !

All three of Gilmour's solo albums are strangley enuff better than his tribute version of PF . Probably because someone else wrote most off the songs !

Assuming that your statement "All three of Gilmour's solo albums are strangley enuff better than his tribute version of PF" is accurate, that does not have anything to do with the premise that there was a notable decrease of quality from The Final Cut to the post Waters version of Pink Floyd.

There was a definite drop in quality from The Wall to The Final Cut. Most of the quality drop was recovered after Waters left PF.
