    Crown Lands

A little something from the latest issue of Prog: Crown Lands, a Canadian band with a bit of Led Zep & Rush in their sound. Kinda fun. I’m digging them stretching out & embracing the Progness.

There's not nearly enough love being shown for this talented duo! I've been spinning their CDs a lot lately (and hoping for some of those vinyl-only 10"s to see the light of day on CD soon). I love the Rush worship of course, but they have a lot of promise for cementing their own sound if they keep playing their cards right. I suspect Crown Lands will have a lot more staying power for me than some of the other retro bands we've heard over the years. Now let's get those earlier albums and vinyl singles and EPs reissued on CD!

Here's a live-in-the-studio version of the above track:

    And a concert live stream:

Thanks for introducing me to this band! I hadn't heard of them before. "Fearless, Part 1" is all-around excellent. They show both great musicianship and great chops, and the Rush-isms abound (not a bad thing, in my mind). The music video version of the song was a bit weird but still very good. It's quite hard to believe sometimes that it's just two guys doing all of this! It all comes down to the art of clever arrangement.

Listening to selected parts of the full live-streamed concert, I'm also impressed with their instrumental versatility. My only quibble would be with the vocal melodies, which IMHO don't seem to gell overall. YMMV. I'd still be very interested in picking up some of their music.

WOW!! I LOVE THIS, thanks for posting...checked all my boxes.

Just ordered White Buffalo on vinyl with my balance of a gift card..

One side note, their personal website needs a complete makeover.

Picked up White Buffalo on vinyl(white) and the double live album on vinyl. My wife and I love their music, and they're in rotation every couple of weeks here.

Thanks for the link and post.
Last year they were opening for Greta Van Fleet tour, and we almost went to see them, but I guess the tour was cancelled when the vocalist for Greta became ill.
I checked out some of their music as well, and the new music is really good. The singer for Greta is awesome! they have a bit of Zep vibe to them.

You have to read the whole thread to stay current, including the ads for Viagra, and freeze dried plant protein vegan pizza. lol

Btw, I want to thank you for your original post introducing their music to us.
ONe of my favorite bands at the moment, bits of Rush, Led Zep, and their own sound as well.

For those who live in the US, the new album can be ordered here, along with other albums and merchandise.

I'm not really a Zeppelin fan, but I love Rush and that delivers some serious vibes in a Rush-ness vein. I'm gonna check out more of their stuff.

They've just posted today to stay tuned for info on a CD release of their new album as well. Good news for me!

I'll have to catch a show soon, they play around here all the time.

^ I'm loving the hell out of both of the new tracks, so I would have ordered from them immediately but the shipping to the US is $13US - the tables have turned! Hosers!

I'll just have to wait for it to trickle down to Amazon or Laser's Edge. This band's new music has been the brightest new spark in my recent music listening, so I can't wait to get more!

They've since posted a US ordering link. I think plenty of people had already jumped on the Canadian shop though!

(Says shipping April 12, whereas Canada says March 7...)

Not sure if this was posted here before, but their Odyssey Vol 1 performed live on a livestream is still posted.
Great show, and we bought the live album after watching this a couple of times.
