The History of King Crimson Pt.2 1975-Present w/Henry Potts & Aymeric Leroy

I caught up with Aymeric and Henry today and we discussed King Crimson's history since 1975, right up to this day. We have a third and final installment in this KC series coming up in a couple months where we will look at the myriad of boxed sets and live albums. But for now, let's start at Discipline and work forward...

    yikes, almost 3 hours long.

Will try to find the time one of these evenings, whether in once or in segments.
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

Caught the whole thing. As a result I've been sampling....Exposure and the three Discipline era albums. The song Breathless from Exposure is a sledgehammer. Very Red.

Very difficult for me to sit and watch You tube for this length of time, I need to be mobile. I know I am missing a lot of excellent content Sean, but unless there is another way to listen this is beyond my capabilities. Bummer.

Does your attention span last for 1 hour? If yes, I'd split it up into 3 showings.

Sounds like he might be objecting to having to sit still for that long, not suffering from look, a squirrel.
    I can relate.

I had to watch it in multiple sittings, because my old bones can't take sitting around for that long anymore.

It was a lot of fun to listen to.

Didn't realize it took as long as it did. Thanks for your patience.

Well, you don't need to see us! Can't you just play it like a podcast while you're walking?

It's more like a podcast, No need to look at the video, and there is nothing to watch (except the album covers and the odd picture - they're not strip-teasing either), so just put your speakers up and walk around your living room

You can also minimize the video to the bottom right corner and surf elsewhere as you please - though I'm not sure the use of Porn Hub is encouraged when the other topic is Crimson. Though Toyah was getting pretty close to getting her last few Lockdown Sunday Brunch vids loaded on there.

When you were talking about the 3 of a perfect pair album cover I did a quick search.. and here I thought it was simply KC ..
The Peter Willis designed artwork illustrates the sacred–profane dichotomy while being a simplified version of the Larks' Tongues in Aspic cover; a rising phallic object represents a male solar deity about to penetrate the crescent figure, a female lunar deity. According to Fripp, the artwork is “a presentation of a reconciliation of Western & Eastern Christianity..the front cover has the two elements, representing the male & female principles. The back cover has the third element drawing together & reconciling the preceding opposite terms”

FWIW, I find Sean's interviews great material for jogging/walking the dog moments and these itws get "sliced" accordingly.

One thing I noticed is that, without willingly trying to do so, I stay focused on the itw, even remember things "to be checked afterwards" while when I listen to music, my mind drifts "somewhere else" after like 10 minutes, even if I deliberately selected that particular music (typically a full album) beforehand specially for that (jogging, in this case) particular moment.

So, a 3 hours itw will probably mean three jogging sessions, thanks Sean for keeping us fit and keep them comin'!

Not at all. It was on a topic that I found interesting, so I listened to the whole thing.

I'm watched the first third of the interview last night. I learned a lot of information about the band member's history and role with the various 80s albums. Very interesting so far.

Listened to the whole podcast (ahead of seeing KC Live in NYC Thursday night). Very enjoyable & informative (despite the length).

I'm on a mini binge of Crimson. I like their heavy instrumentals the most. Even the 80s stuff is mind blowing. The bassists/drummers, and crunch guitar just gives them oooomph.
